Well, if what I've read about Japanese society is to be believed (let's just go with it as true, even if it's not, for arguments sake), then Japanese women only date good looking guys with high paying jobs. Or medium looking guys with high paying jobs. And they take as much money as they can from their husbands, leaving them with something like $10 a day for lunch and keeping the rest for themselves.
If that was what I was looking at, I wouldn't want to date the women around me and would probably go for that innocent anime girl too.
Also, I've heard that Japanese women are looking for manlier men these days (as opposed to the rest of the world), but Japanese men are getting more effeminate (is that how you spell it?). Don't know if that's true, but again, it would explain a lot of the lack of interest in relationships and sex ON BOTH SIDES. Something that this 'professional' is not doing.

Anime, manga, and gaming are just forms of escapism and when they have become a crutch then that usually means there is something awfully wrong with reality. From what I could remember a typical salary man would work 60+ hours a week usually with no overtime pay in strict corporate hierarchy with little of no chance of moving up the ladder and with absolute obedience to their bosses with a constant and ever present need show loyalty to the very same company working them to death. All this to support a wife and their kids. That would be a nightmarish lifestyle to follow through for later generations.
