Crap. My laptop is (was) easily better than my gaming rig for graphics, ram, speed and responsiveness. It could also run games in it via WINE faster than my XP rig could and with better rendering. The XP rig cost me roughly 3 grand, the laptop was 2.5.

What Mac's are, are expensive and generally not running windows which means they can't play the games available to them - people have to emulate or dual boot an XP/Vista/7 install.

The rest of you idiots who haven't even used a Mac for more than the 5 minutes it takes to cry about not having a right click button need to spend some time on the other side - at least when I rag on an OS it's because I've used it, not because I'm following sheep think.

All I did was say that macs are very expensive, I didn't comment on how well they can play games or run windows. In fact many modern games can be played on Macs, it's not a particularly impressive or new development, they have been able to natively play many games for years.

When I bought my current computer in it's raw state a few years ago, I very seriously considered getting a Mac and running windows, why didn't I?
The $1600 I spent on my rig (consisting of specific parts I knew would be durable and wouldn't age to quickly) would've cost me somewhere in the $4000 region (just below if I recall correctly) if I wanted it in a white case. What I was saying is that you could quite easily spend $9000 on a computer if you went to mac and specified parts, because it gets very expensive very quickly.

Some Apple computers are beasts.

I'll link to each of the Macs, just go through and max all the specs. It'll cost a lot, but they are beasts.

None of these are actually made for gaming, but they would work okay. No one in this thread is doing it yet, but don't go saying Macs are underpowered. They just cost way too much for the average person.

thank you, i was getting angry seeing these ignorant posts about macs being garbage. I never owned a mac, but i sure as hell have worked and done maintenance on them, and these machines beat most custom built PCs out there. Reason why Macs cost so much is because you paying for the design, like the ipods and iphones. Macs are highly stable and believe it or not many graphic designers and some 3-d artists use Mac Pros since they rarely have to worry about their workstation freezing during an intense work session or some other garbage that we put up with on MS systems.

and another thing, Macs dont come with super fast CPUs and GPUs because they are not aimed at gamers, they are aimed at mainstream users, aka your video editors/bloggers/designers and what not.
