Guys! This is actually the best possible outcome for us. Nothing makes us look more sane than the NRA coming out against our medium.
Peoples hatred for them could translate into at least indifference to our hobby. They are clearly deflecting and people can see right through the bullshit.

Does anybody notice the irony of 19 years of lowered rates of violence, during the initial rise of all of the violent media he cites?
"...violent crime is increasing again for the first time in 19 years...Through vicious, violent video games with names like Bulletstorm, Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat and Splatterhouse. And here's one: it's called Kindergarten Killers. It's been online for 10 years...Then there's the blood-soaked slasher films like 'American Psycho' and 'Natural Born Killers'"

Granted, Bulletstorm is recent, but GTA has been around since the late 90's, Mortal Kombat since the early 90's, and Splatterhouse since 1988. He says himself that some (presumably purposefully) incendiary game (I'm assuming it's a flash game?) named Kindergarten Killers has been around for 10 years. American Psycho was over a decade ago, and Natural Born Killers was from 1994. Jesus man. Not only are your movies poor examples of 'slasher flicks', they're also incredibly dated and random.

Since when has the media tried to hide Video Games? Any time ANYTHING happens its almost always video game's fault. Mentally unstable person kills people? Video Games. Idiots do something stupid? Video Games. An ant dies? Well, lets throw out all the video games, or else that ant would still be alive.

Perhaps we should stop looking at the symptoms and look at the causes behind such incidents. There needs to be a neutral, well-informed study done on such horrifying incidents. Perhaps should look at family issues, mental disorders and what-not.

While a video-game on its own might not be enough to triggers a mass-murder (or any violent media-piece for that matter), could it tip someone over whom already has issues?

After hearing this news and news corporations talking bad against gaming, I'm thinking that maybe the apocalypse would be for the better. It's that depressing.

Yes you can't shoot someone without a gun. But making something illegal doesn't remove everyone's access to it. See weed and booze.
This analogy doesn't really hold up. It's a lot easier to brew moonshine or grow weed than it is to make your own AR-15.

The NRA hasn't been concerned with protecting anyone's rights for some years now. They only have an interest in keeping the debate going and the donations flowing. If you are really concerned with protecting your 2nd (or 1st) amendment rights, DO NOT give your money to the NRA. Gun Owners of America or Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership would be a better choice.

There is so much stupid it makes my head hurt. I truly feel sorry for Americans as they have to live in a Country wher people like this are able to influence politics.

Just because I used a video game to kill a man does not mean anything!
Video games don't kill people, I do!

I wish I was a member of the NRA for the sole purpose of being able to call and cancel...whatever the hell it is you get for being a member of the NRA.

With that said, I can be proud that most news outlets are giving them a big fat slab of "Seriously? Are these guys serious here? This guy can't seriously be telling us that violent video games are what makes people murder a classroom full of kindergartners. Are we being Punked or something?".

What, more than ALL of the Middle East, Africa, and Mexico? REALLY? By a large percentage? Do you have numbers somewhere? Because we'd have to be having a massacre every week just to keep up with Syria alone I think.
I believe that he refer to the countries that do not categorize as having a civil war inside. Mexico's Drug War can be considered as a civil war, Syria is a civil war, most places in Africa do have a long history of civil war. The US, not so much, and it's homicide rate is much higher than any other country that is not in a civil war itself.

OT: Okay, now the NRA goes into my list of American Hypocrisy.

So the NRA is relying on people being stupid and uninformed. It's a good strategy. The only flaw in that strategy is that last year video games have been officially protected under the first amendment. Good effort though. But if history thought us anything, it's that eventually the good guys win, because people just get tired of being used and lied to.

Do you hear that? That's the sound of the NRA throwing us under the bus.

And zero fucks were given.
Well, given the the NRA are generally the worst kind of 'gun people' I doubt anyone takes what they say seirusly, especially the bit about removing 'no gun' zones, cause that go over real well
