Nudity in Games

The nudity in the Witcher 2 actually didn't bother me at all (I thought it would considering it's not a regular thing in the games I normally play.)
I'm more bothered by the NPC's bad habits of screaming obscenities for little to no reason over and over and over again.

As long as it is relevant to the scene and not just included so the game can point at it and go "look nudity aren't we mature", then I have no issue with it.

Actually I have no issues with it anyway but nudity for the sake nudity in a game just annoys me.

Only games I've played with nudity are Mass Effect, FEAR, and Max Payne 3. MP3 seemed gratuitous, Mass Effect wasn't bad, and FEAR... i don't wanna talk about it.

OT: I don't really mind. And seeing how much popularity nude mods have, I think others don't mind either.

Butt buddies sounds like some arse hole equivalent to crabs.

I'd prefer that nudity wasn't in games, what's it for? To arouse? Further the plot? I don't get it, nothing screams creepy to parents and non-gaming friends like to 3D models bumping ugly or 3D model breasts bouncing around.

Funny thing, from what I hear, one of the first things people tend to do in Saints Row 2 and 3 is run around naked (regardless of gender).

Sure there's pixelated censor bars, that's part of the joke, but still.

I think this is how things go, your "average, lowest common denominator" gamer would fawn over boobies, be made slightly uncomfortable by female pubic hair and panic their brains out the moment they see a dong. That is, unless some fetishes we shall not speak of come into play.

But my attitude to nudity in games? Same as nudity in reality. It exists and I'm comfortable with it - but the moment someone goes "OMG look look boobies!" I'm going to roll my eyes and let out an exasperated sigh. Yes, I've seen my share of tits in my life so far, why should I be amazed if I see another pair? Not like I'm seeing anything new.

If I see full nudity in a vidya game, I'll probably stop whatever train of thought I am on and think "huh. Fair play to them for doing that. Not every day that happens." And go on with my day.

Would it bother me in any way? Njet.

Kane and Lynch 2 didn't seem to result in much outrage (well, aside from the outrage that resulted from it being absolute ass). I doubt too many people are phased by male nudity.

I think it's pretty dumb in videogames. I understand when nudity/sex is implied in games like Mass Effect, but full on scenes like Witcher 2 I find just stupid.
People who actually take their time to draw out these pixels so that some dude gets a hard-on, I just don't understand it. It's just silly.

I've certainly noticed a lot more wangs in mainstream cinema lately than I ever did growing up, so hopefully that indicates a change in attitudes.

As for video-games, I think it depends on the game: In Splatterhouse the nudity was ridiculously explicit but so was everything about that game so it just added to the OTT grindhouse feel.

If, however, I was playing Mario one day and he turned to face the screen, biting his lip an unhooking the straps on his dungarees, I would consider my childhood (and ability to feel human emotion) officially deceased.

Partially because it's usually an instant NC-17 in movies, and likely would be the same in games.

Also, with the insecure little twits who make up the base of gaming? I think male nudity would probably tank a game.

i personally find nudity and sex in computers games distracting, stupid and bit uncomfortable to watch ... what with the whole uncanny valley thing going on. it is one thing to watch people having sex, it is another thing altogether to watch animated characters go at it.

bottom line: the scenes add absolutely nothing to the game except some mild teenage titillation. if it all went away tomorrow, i would probably celebrate a bit.

See nudity in general doesn't phase me. Male/Female. Doesn't bug me at all. What bugs me is that for example, in GTA 4 there is a male nude scene in the dlc add on. Didn't bug me at all. what bugged me is that if I go to a strip club and the women are censored, then what was the bloody point of the nude scene? Either show both or show none.

We see plenty of violence. Plenty of Gore. But when someone sees boobies, vagaja or the penis people get offended....

What I may ask you is so bad about the human body? Sure we love to see someone's arm get ripped off or their organs drained out. But boobs? OHHHHH NOOOO!!!!!
