Even though Liam and Noel were arrogant pricks they made some fairly decent music. I'm jsut annoyed they cancelled playing at V festival in Chelmsford cause I'd got tickets and really wanted to see them. I prefer there earlier stuff.

That being said Snow Patrol did a marvellous job (I was surprised as well) at replacing them as head liners, not that snow patrol are awful I just didn't think they had it in them. They did a brilliant cover of Wonderwall and got the crowd going so overall I'm a little bit disappointted that I didn't see them but not too much.

Also all their best songs were the earlier one (morning glory album a personal favourite) and the recent songs have been a bit lack lustre, and apparently the rift between Liam and Noel was making them crap on stage so it's probably for the best.

Wait, because one person left, the band is dead? I don't think it works like that.
Noel wrote a lot of the songs, and a lot of the classic ones at the that. So it's quite a blow to the band

Nah seriously I guess I'm kinda sad coz they put my city on the map, but they also made all Mancunians look like twats, so fuck them.

I kind of think Oasis are so 'alright' that you can't particularly love them or hate them. A very mild accessible band.

I do think it's funny that they split because my ex-boyfriend had a bordering-on-dangerous obsession with them and he'll now be taking days off work to grieve. Who the hell has Oasis as their favourite band?! Oasis are for people who just aren't really that into music.

'The shock of the lightning' is a great song, however its the only oasis song ive ever liked!

There way to mellow for my liking.

Fairly indifferent to be honest. They've done some songs I quite liked, but that was some time ago and they were very much a spent force that was never really that much to be reckoned with in the first place (despite their popularity).

I seem to be one of those few people who liked the band beyond the song Wonderwall. That may be all they're known for in America, but they're much more noteworthy across the pond. They've been a guilty pleasure for me ever since Definitely Maybe came out in 94. And as a longtime fan, I know they've done this stuff before. Honestly, I'll be more convinced if they stay apart for longer than a couple years. But I think everyone expects we'll hear another Oasis album before long.

Their hardcore fans may flame me for this but they are way past their creative prime anyway.

So in the long run,it really matters not at all.

Wish AC/DC would follow Oasis's example.
