Same bullshit different puppet, ah well at least this one has an IQ over 40.
QFT. Though, even with a "higher" IQ, he's still just, as you put it, a puppet with all of the same douche bags and corrupt ass-hats, of whom have been in power forever, pulling the strings.

Yes and remember, they have to PAY for the Leer jets, and do you know what happens to your money after you purchase something?
the same thing that happens when the poor pay for food and health care. which would you say is more important?
Thank you cobra_ky. You made my point so concisely.

Why is Obama such a big deal? It can't really be because he's black right? The fact that saying that we have a black president is supposed to overthrow racist thoughts in the nation only promotes them by acknowledging their existence. Can someone tell me why he's such a big deal?
He is intelligent, wise for his age, very well spoken, articulate, respected by the world community for his views, an over achiever, and a few other things I may have forgotten. For a President, those are all qualities I would want. After eight years of Bush who frankly, was very embarrassing to even watch, Obama is like a breath of fresh air. That is why I voted for him. He is very much like Clinton in these regards, though I seriously doubt he will make the same mistakes.

Felt the same way. This whole thing is out of hand. Obama's not a politician, he's a celebrity. Someone who loves basking in the lime light isn't someone I want making key decisions about the country I live in. I just hope he gets over himself and actually tries to make informed, non-coerced decisions about the future of the US. God knows we need SOMEONE to start fixing things.

Sadly, the big deal is that he's the first black president we've ever had. Pathetic, I know, on a few levels. Not that I'm angry to see us finally having a president that's black, it's that I wish it'd had been someone else. Someone better and more fitting of the job.

Two reasons why people don't like Obama:
Some people are just that damn racist/ignorant in the U.S., and some people don't like his politics. That is the way it should be, hate/love a politician on his politics, and nothing else.

Anyway, I didn't vote for Obama because of a few reasons. Mostly gun control issues and how he might over socialize things. Regardless, I have a lot of hope that obama can at least fix the economy and fix the wars. I am giving him a chance, and I urge everyone to do the same, you may not like him, but he COULD do some good for this country. We don't know yet.

Hmmm. I don't live in the States, but I definitely would not have voted for Obama. Mostly on account of his haircut. I hope he does badly, but it's pretty unlikely that he could make things worse than they already are.

so he would be a bad president because he has a bad haircut?

i hate to break it to ya, but looks aren't everything

what's pretentious about a train? and while obama does view lincoln as a role model and tries to emulate him to some degree, i see the media compare him to FDR a lot more because of the economy, or JFK because of his age and emphasis on public service. you're right, though, that it's just as silly to praise him before he takes office as it is to judge him.

obama's not just the first black president. he's the first urban president. he's the first president to excite the younger generation of voters. he's the first president to use the internet effectively. and frankly, a lot of people are excited because he's the first president after bush.

during the campaign, obama actually tried to avoid race as much as possible; he was really only forced to bring it up when jeremiah wright became an issue.

Because he obviously did it to soak in the love for him by watching the people wave as the train goes by and have people talk about how that's the route Lincoln took the the White House. He's doing it to be a narcissistic douchebag, which I definitely think he is.

I also find it odd when people compare him to JFK. I get that they're doing it because of his youth and the barrier breaking similarities, but it's just funny to see them compare him to a rather weak president.

Either way, even though I'm not all that optimistic about his presidency, I hope he does do good. He was a better choice than McCain, but that doesn't necessarily make him a good choice.

Obama is coming into government at a very rough time. That said, I've had lots of rants about whats wrong with the United States (as an Australian) and he has fixes for most of them. So he's certainly going in a very good direction. The question is can he do it.

i think part of it was homage to lincoln, i think the rest was to establish his image as a populist president. while there was definitely some political grandstanding behind it, i don't think he's a narcissist. i've heard plety of stories about the campaign making <a href=http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/22/obamas-shoes-a-historical_n_136924.html>obama get new shoes, or how he lived in a crappy apartment in washington until it caught on fire and the secret service made him move. i agree he's overhyped and made too much of, but i don't attribute it to the man himself anymore than i blame bush for his negative image.

I agree that more of his glorified image has come from people swooning over him than that of his own doing, but I don't think that he dislikes it either. And I'm not using this to influence my political opinion of him, I really don't like the guy as a person.

Obama ran on a campaign of nothing. The amazing thing was that the strategy payed off. At this point still no one knows what he stands for. Yet, every hippie and socialist from here to Azerbijan are queuing up to sew their lips to his ass.

The most hilarious thing is that people keep comparing him to Lincoln, quickly forgetting that Lincoln was a Republican.

In all honesty, Obama scares the crap out of me. Like I said, no one knows what the hell his positions are on anything. Except maybe, the hippie BS of labeling the Iraq war the new Vietnam. Another thing people can't seem to remember is that the Democrats got us into Vietnam. And his eloquent speaking without actually saying anything, and the way people are practically getting ready to throw a crown on this guy's head. Seems like we've seen this somewhere in history before. Some guy who's initials are A.H.

And frankly I don't care if I get flamed for this opinion. If you bought into the Obama-rama, then you probably stopped reading after the first sentence and are already typing out how stupid or evil you think I am for doing something as awful as thinking indepenedently.
if you don't know what obama stands for then you're not paying attention. he wants to withdraw from iraq, not immediately but as soon as possible. he wants to redirect forces to afghanistan. he has a $500B stimulus plan based on spending, and another $300B in tax cuts. he supports civil unions but believes gay marriage should be left to the states. someone mentioned gaza; obama will support israel less fervently than past administrations but frankly would probably rather avoid dealing with the situation as much as possible.

you're also conveniently ignoring that fact that party ideologies are in a constant state of flux and radically changed during the 1960's, let alone the 1860's.

finally, i'm pretty sure obama will not be the next hitler, but if he starts opening death camps then i guess i'll owe you an apology.

Fail, Obama is being hailed as some Jesus like figure who will some how solve the huge problems of not just the US but the world in general. The fact is he is taking control of a huge heap of shite. So many things are wrong from the very fundamentals of freedom of speech brought in as anti terror measures under Bush, through to the vast sword of Damocles that is the down turn in the world economy. You then have the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the every rising threats of Iran and Korea who will leap on any opportunity, any weakness shown by US forgien policy.

Even if he just manages to get the US back to a state that it was in prior to 9 / 11 he'll still fail. The expectations are far to high and the reality is he's never gonna live up to the things people are expecting of him.

Mind you saying that the fanatical following behind him may be enough to bring about the overall opinion that whatever he does he will have done a good job, let's face it America voted for GW Bush TWICE, so anything is possible.

PS this was written during the inauguration ceremony.

Well seeing as I'm a hardcore conservative, I was trying to parody the fact that a lot of other radically right-minded folk might not of voted for him because of his race - an equally superficial reason as his hair.

Love you avatar, by the way!
