To be honest nothing Gordon Brown does is ever exciting... he has to be one of the dullest leaders ever.

Oh c'mon, John Major was far more dull.

Be happy you guys don't have to deal with Steven Harper....the man is little more than a cardboard cut-out.

i do have to say, Mr. Obama has some serious charisma going on thar. In my years i have never seen the demonstration of support and enthusiasm the general US public showed to him, and frankly it is very refreshing.

I hope for a real time of changes, and all good things that may come of it.

I can understand that he can give pretty speeches and that he may seem to be a nice person, but the way I've always looked at it is that anyone who aspires to political/ruling power over a country should NEVER get that power no matter how decent a person they seem to be...

I'm in the UK and I personally think that Blair and Brown have royally screwed up this country by bending over too often and taking it up the rear for the EU and the USA before considering what the people of the UK might actually want.

A rulers first, main and ONLY concern should always be the health, well-being and happiness of the people who put them in power...

That was World War I. Though in retrospect you've probably been corrected already/are making an overall point of linkage between wars... if so my apologies.

Personally I doubt his ability to be the new messiah and change America in to a shining Utopia of equality and joy, because that's not realistic in the slightest. He'll bumble around for a bit, change some things for the symbolism of it and then leave, but he'll still look better doing it in comparison to his predecessor.

I never heard the speech, but the morning papers had a huge article on it... And among other things, they said that Obama had equalized Communism with Facism... Got me thinkin... Is the bloke a McCarthyist or is he just uneducated? O,o

I think if we held an election for Supreme Chancellor of Earth.. Obama would win and be awesome at it.

He sure beats the Australian Prime Minister. Kevin Rudd (Aussie PM) spent the last 6 months almost living in China before coming home and starting a 3 month holiday...
