I don't think it's wise to choose Speechcraft or Athletics as major skills.
Other than that, it's great.

Wrong forum?

Also, barbarians+magic= blasphemy. Seriously, barbarians are supposed to be incredibly suspicious of anything involving the hocus-pocus.

If it's not an Argonian illusion sorcerer, i don't want to hear about it.

One day i'll make it work, you have my word.

I don't have much to say about your build.. seems good enough.

I made a Breton Shieldmage as my favorite build.. Basically a Warrior (heavy armor, shield) that used destruction magic instead of a weapon. Never equipped a weapon through the whole game

It got me through the game and I had a good time with it

I once made a class that was entirely magic as major skills, and high elf - Useless throughout 90% of the game but once i leveled up a lot (which was easy cos its just hold down cast button...) I made a combo of spells which boosted magick to about 800, which meant i could also have spells to run at a million miles an hour for about 20 seconds :D

I tried a High-Elf mage once in Morrowind, suffice to say, he DIED.

My best for Oblivion is a Cyrodil that's similiar to a Crusader, yet I call him a "Mandalorian" and quite frankly he lives up to the damn title. I've got him parading about in Order Priest robes right now, mask too, he's much more like a Spellsword now, though.

Athletics is a bad major. Speechcraft/Mercantile are both OK, because you can control their growth rate so you don't get overlevelled. (Oblivion is one game where overlevelling is truly bad, because you end up fighting things you can't handle with your current skill levels).

Also, I'd take Endurance as an attribute instead of Speed, because health bonuses from Endurance aren't retroactive, so you want to max it out as soon as possible.

I have played Oblivion with just one character a Dark Elf Warlock, I equiped him with nothing but some robes and a longsword and trained magic as best I could.
Needles to say I died alot but from lvl 25 or so he became incredebly strong even so that I didn't have to use my sword, one spell after another was enough to kill even the fiercest opponent. In other words he was awsome and while typing this I realize I miss Oblivion.

I made a standard Swordsman. Then, I forgot to cure his vampyrism and abandoned the save after it took hold.

Then, I made another Swordsman. He's currently a Level 27. I've peaked his Blade and Heavy Armour skills, he's top of the Fighters Guild, Mage's Guild (despite the fact that he only knows Illusion to 50, and all his other magic is around or less than 25) amd the Arena, he's stopped the Oblivion Crisis and he's stinking rich.

I used his abilities and standing to create a Stealth set of Mithril armour. Now, I'm going through the Thieve's Guild quests on a seperate save with him.

I've also recently gone back to my vampire character and am using him to max out the Dark Brotherhood.

My first custom-class was a 'War Wizard'. He was insane :D My entire combat strat involved casting a multi-element destruction spell until I was out of mana then laying into enemies with a 20-attack sword that regenerated mana on strike (Repeat). It was Epic. He got boring after my gear added up to over 200% reflect damage though as I could go afk in battle and come back victorious.

I'd drop Conj for Alteration since you don't have Security so magicking (sp?) locks open is your only option. That and the totally broken Skeleton Key.

Personally I'd can Athletics too. The Fatigue bonuses might be handy but ultimately you'll level Atheltics just from running everywhere anyway. If you're going for a shield then Block is the obvious choice but since you haven't taken it I'm guessing it'll be big two-handed maces/clubs all the way. Consider Acrobatics just for the combat dodge thing. Or Sneak for the clubbing-someone-really-really-hard thing.
