From the Billy Blaze series?

For me, I don't know. Don't remember that many games that aren't recent and somewhat well known. Maybe Jasper from Jasper's Journeys...I haven't heard of anyone who played that game. And Jasper risked his life at every turn to get his cat back. You have to admire that dedication.

Raikoh from Otogi: Myth of Demons. It's a shame the franchise never took off, because this guy was cool. He could defy gravity and attack floating enemies in mid air. He could destroy entire buildings with one swing of his sword and yes, he's an undead etherel member of a clan of assassins, serving a princess to rid the world of demons and redeem his past sins.

I like him a lot more than Ryu Hyabusa.

This guy is definitly on my top 5 favorite characters list, and before you ask, he is an actual character in the game who does a hell of alot more than the Nathan Drake-esque character you find these days. Also he doesn't just say his name the entire time, he's like if John Conner's will met with Jack Sparrows mysteriousness but mixed with Bruce Campbells Intimidating Seriousness.

If you haven't figured out his name, Its Grovyle from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time
I'm 90% certain that I'm the only one played it who is on this site.

Capcha: IIDS (Is that some sort of disease?)

Tagic grovyle

Also WHo remembers croc

Anyone?

No offense, but I would prefer not noticing an eventual comparison between Klonoa (a full-fledged character) and Sonic (a no-character) and, quite frankly, the ONLY Sonic game I've ever like was (ironically enough) "Shadow the Hedgehog" but only because it was a brilliant example of campy self-parody. Seriuosly, not only Sonic Team seems to forget their making games for A Cartoon Animal, but they create horrible storylines with fancy "dark themes" of utter ridiculousness... there is nothing subtle or interesting about those themes anyway, it's always Sonic fights the bad guy and he turns Super Sayan and defeat some giant monster and whatnot.
A WEREHOG! REALLY!
Ugh.... besides, everyone knows Tails is better!
You're calling Sonic a no-character? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? He is undoubtedly the most fleshed out characters in the series!

But what about the other combinations? Interesting, no?

If not, then I can understand. DAMMIT a man can dream, can't he?

Oh the irony...

I used to like Sonic... before the bad camera angles, the bestiality, the wolfman-hog (or whatever), the unappealing stories, the bad writing, and the sudden realization that I wasn't really into that kind of platforming as much as I thought so... in fact, what I really liked was Tails, his sidekick; Sonic's "cool" '90's attitude ALWAYS pissed me off.

To be honest, I don't really, really, really care about fancy crossovers and whatnot... I just want to play more Klonoa games; I want to visit new worlds filled with challenging puzzles, imaginative visuals and sweet scores. That's all I want. Anything else is but a gimmick.

So you're saying that every new Sonic game is shit, huh? You sound like everybody else on the internet.

Sonic and the Secret Rings was a HUGEimprovement over '06. I got over the beastiality quick.... it was a Big Lipped Alligator Moment that shouldn't have been there. As for the screwy camera, every game since Sonic and the Secret Rings fixed that. Sonic Unleashed, I'm MORE than willing to excuse. The day levels made MORE than up for the could-have-been-better night levels.

Once again, Sonic and the Black Knight was awesome. I even liked the sword idea: it was new and fresh.

Sonic Colors just took everything that was Sonic Adventure and made it just a little bit better. Seriously, it is the best Sonic game in recent years.

Oh yeah, a Klonoa 3 wouldn't hurt.

Not to sound trollish but, people need to learn the definition of "Obscure", people seem to think it's exact definition is "Oddness of looks".

In the actually definition of Obscure.
1. (of meaning) not clear or plain; ambiguous, vague, or uncertain: an obscure sentence in the contract
I would say Teddie from Persona 4. His meaning is not clear and lets face it, he is just epic. (Except the cheating at the contest)

(If this came across as "jerkish" I apologize, I know tone of voice is hard to determine in text form so I just want to say I don't like the word Obscure due to it's over use)
1.
(of meaning) not clear or plain; ambiguous, vague, or uncertain: an obscure sentence in the contract.
2.
not clear to the understanding; hard to perceive: obscure motivations.
3.
(of language, style, a speaker, etc.) not expressing the meaning clearly or plainly.
4.
indistinct to the sight or any other sense; not readily seen, heard, etc.; faint.
5.
inconspicuous or unnoticeable: the obscure beginnings of a great movement.
6.
of little or no prominence, note, fame, or distinction: an obscure french artist.
7.
far from public notice, worldly affairs, or important activities; remote; retired: an obscure little town.
8.
lacking in light or illumination; dark; dim; murky: an obscure back room.
9.
enveloped in, concealed by, or frequenting darkness.
10.
not bright or lustrous; dull or darkish, as color or appearance.
11.
(of a vowel) having the reduced or neutral sound usually represented by the schwa (ə).
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Obscure

Many people are tending to go by the #6 or 7 definition.

On topic: I would go with Gig from Soul Nomad and The World Eaters. NIS is pretty popular, but Soul Nomad seemed to go under the radar, many people's first contact with Gig was in his unlockable appearance in Disgaea 3.
I love him to death.

Oh no, no no no no, my friend. You have misunderstood me. I did not hate all the Sonic 3D games... I never got into ANY of the Sonic games to begin with up until I played my utterly beloved "Shadow the Hedgehog" game for the PS2... I was just baffled at the awesome concept of having an amnesiac, super-powered, super-fast, angry, over-dramatic goth cartoon hedgehog killing things with miniguns, rocket launchers and even chicken-shaped vacoom guns XD that called himself "The Ultimate Weapon" while crying for the death of a little girl and pretending to be taken serious... it was over-the-top campy madness at its best and pretty darn fun to play... plus, the multiple choices leading to different endings, the outstanding catchphrases (such as "Where is that DAMN fourth Chaos Emerald" or "This is who I am!") and a ridicoulsly-names villain that spunds like The Claw from "Inspector Gadget", just sealed the deal. A game that tries to HARD to sell an emo rodent as the quintessence of Badassery can't possibly leave you indifferent... so yeah, needless to say, all other "Sonic" games I've played after this were never as good for me.
I mean, C'MON, a Super-Powered Bad-Ass Hedgehog fighting Aliens with a Minigun!!!!!!!!!!!! It's like Mickey Mouse going "Serious Sam" all over the place! It's totally f******* awesome!
So yes, that's the story. I was lured into this thing but Sonic's emo parody... come to think of it, that's kind of sad.

He's like Links distant cousin, only more bad ass. He's your classic silent protagonist that travels the world killing evil and seems to be a total chick magnet. On average he slays boss monsters at least the size of a school bus; the smaller bosses being stupid hard powerful human like baddies. Oh and in the original games, he killed shit by running into it. Yea, he killed shit by hitting it with his face! Because swords are for wimps.

Oh yea and he has a giant ass side kick/Friend called Dogi. He punches walls...walls fear his crushing strength.

He's saved the world like 6 times now and yet he's still a rather unknown hero who stacks up to the likes of other great silent protagonists like Link, Crono, Ryu and others.

Well, you do have a point. If only SEGA would have taken a bit longer to develop Sonic '06 then at least the horrible narminess and maybe the bestiality could have been forgiven.

And yes, Shadow the Hedgehog was awesome. No lie.

Sorry for being prickish there... just irks me when it looks like people mindlessly criticize games just because one game did bad, that must mean all the others suck, huh...

So you are forgiven! :)

Ah yes... you must have played one of those games - one of those games a few people actually remember - and you must have met one of those characters - one of those characters tragically faded in the everlasting void of forgetfulness. Who was your favorite character nobody but you remembered?
Everything from Tales Runner :<
Its an epicly awesome and cool game yet NO ONE has ever played it.
Such an awesome game and its hard too.
great MMO racer game.
To bad no one has heard of it.
Its almost perfect...
It that's an MMO, and nobody but you has heard of it... does that mean you're the only player?
