This thread is devoted to those relatives that are just weird, from quirky to batshit crazy I wanna hear about 'em.

Let me start off with my uncle, about 45 and A COMPLETE PS3 FANBOY AND TROLL. Seriously, one of his famous pastimes is to troll the Xbox forums and he endeavors to turn me into one as well which, if you know me, is not going to happen anytime soon.

So come along and spread the word of you craaazy relatives.

I'm not sure about crazy...
everyone is a little crazy...
I guess I'm just crazier than all of my relatives, as no one strikes me as crazy.
Not that I can currently think of, anyway.

Some really frugal distant cousin.

Worked for an airline like 20 years ago and still wears his uniform and shit because he doesn't want to buy clothes. Also he still has airline food in his fridge that he lives off.

My Aunt Claire... I just found out about her last week. She got my uncle drunk managed to get him to marry her, then hauled him off to Kentucky, where they farm pigs.

My uncle, who is in his mid-forty's. He is a PS3 fanboy with OCD. He is also a slight otaku. He's kind of a jerk though and my Dad hates him but I feel more connected to him than any of the other far-flung relative type people in my life.

Really I think I may be the weird one ... the 22 year old, ambition-less, college drop-out, otaku, gamer, comic nerd who is also a nostalgiophile ... Also my love of Final Fantasy VIII above all of the others should peg me as the odd-ball

I don't think I actually have any normal relatives.

Lots of IRA members though, lots and lots. And that weirdo uncle who flew guns into South Africa, and my uncle Des O'Neill, the barrister who brought down Bertie Aherne, former PM of Ireland.
I had one great grandfather who was a member of Sinn Fein. The rest of his family died of alcohol-related diseases. That's all the fun they had.

But I wouldn't necessarily call that odd.

Personally odd relatives would be my grandma, who is probably insane.

(Smugly) I'm the only one she likes.

My Uncial is a Vietnam vet who killed over 10 Hostiles. He was a cook for the army when his base was invaded, he was awarded the Silver Star, but then later was booted out when they discovered he was gay...

Later developed severe PTSD, but now-a-days hes doing quite well as an power efficiency expert for the Florida State Government...

Everyone in my family is boring.

It makes me look more insane in comparison though.

I am the odd relative. Granted, most of my mother's family in Wisconsin seem kinda nuts (the fun sort of nuts, not the creepy sort), but the closest I know of here is my aunt the born-again former thief.

You really want to know about this?

The arguments my family had were legendary. My friends would always laugh so hard everytime they would visit and my mom and grandmother would get into it. My grandmother was living with us for a while, so it made the arguments an almost everyday occurence.

My mom and grandmother were both very religious; and sometimes they would use that in their arguments. What started the arguments between them, I have no idea. But it would end up going like this:

Grandma: "You wouldn't be happy unless I sat on a little throne and blessed everyone that came along!"
Mom: "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus!"
Grandma: "Well I rebuke YOU in the name of Jesus!"
Mom: "You can go to hell!"

So with me and my invited friend sitting back in my room, playing games, and my friend trying to eat a pillow to keep from laughing too loudly.

One day in December my mom had a doctor's appointment in Oklahoma City, which was about an hour from where we lived. My grandmother was going with her to keep her company, and they left early in the morning. About 6 pm, my mom came home - but my grandmother wasn't with her.

Me: "Mom? Where's Grandma?"
Mom: "Oklahoma City."
Me: "Why is she still in OKC?"
Mom: **matter of fact, like it was no big deal** "Because I kicked her out of the car."

So apparently, they were going down the road and they got into a massive argument. My mom pulled over at a gas station and told HER mom to get out of the car. In the middle of Oklahoma City. IN the WINTER. My grandmother refused to get out. So my mom got out, went around the car, opened her door, took off her seatbelt and dragged her out of the car. Then yeah, she just drove off and went home.

That was the last time I ever saw my grandmother.

Not really - she called a friend in OKC and had them pick her up. I still can't believe my mom and grandmother could actually make up after that and go back to things being like old times.

Is that the crazy you were looking for?
