This has become quite a tight-nit group. I can't really remember the last time I saw a new face around here.

to be fair, its not like it's apparent the site has a forum. It's under a separate menu, off to the side. If I stumbled across the site and saw, imo, infrequent articles and content that hasn't had new stuff since 2023, I'm not going to bother looking around to see if there's a forum. Maybe that's just me though.

Even on the old site we had a problem with people not joining the forum. I blame the decline on when they started letting people comment with their Facebook accounts instead of forcing them to make an Escapist profile and stopped showing the latest forum posts next to every article and video. Of course, the problem is entirely different now, but still.

Been like that for a good while. The vast majority of those guests are probably SEO web crawlers.

Fyi, in case you never noticed, but the forum was down for some time. Not the whole site, just the forum, accompanied by the message "Sorry, we're currently unavailable. Please check back later"

They know enough to put that ad at the top of every page and create a new subforum for their articles, so I think they know enough to be dangerous.

Kinda. They don't show any more visibly, even on my phone, but they're still interfering with using the menu on the phone. Desktop is no different to normal, cos ad and script blockers.


I wasn't able to upload a reaction image though.
