...It's purple

Ahem, yes Cats are evil, only good cat is a dead cat, though not that I support animal cruelty...

My parents just adopted a new beagle. I hate it with a passion, he gets into everything (garbage, cleaning supplies, clothes, etc) and today... the icing on the cake. He knocked over a drink I had on my desk, and it spilled onto my desktop computer, shorting it out. That dog, so far has cost me about 2 grand.

Always, ALWAYS save your work. Cats are notorious for this kind of thing. They hate you with a fiery passion, and this sort of cruel havoc is their playtime.

On the subject at hand, I've had this sort of luck before. Out new kitten has only recently gotten it into his head that behind the TV is not a toilet.

You could have just CTRLZ'd it.
I think she means that it pressed Backspace outside of the text box, and it went back to the last page in the browser. In which case, yes, you would lose your text. Personally, if I'm going to writing something big like that I type it into Notepad, save it, then copy and paste it into the text box. Also, it's impossible to stay angry at cute little kitties.

I love my cats. I really do. All four of them.

But when they nudge the cartridge of 'The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past' when I am in the middle of the Ice Temple.. The temptation to punt them across the room is rather strong.

.. Alas, I can never stay angry at them for long. They have me wrapped around their damn paws.

Was that making fun of me, or making fun of folks that don't?

That's the best part about cats. The best thing is when you have one wrapped around your paw... I mean hand... maybe they do control me.

Yeah. I kid myself in thinking I own them. They are lucky they're so damned lovable, or else I'd revolt.

Can you imagine a revolution of cat owners? It would start off well, and then just divulge into a massive chorus of "AWWWWW... THEY'RE SO CUTE!"

Yeah, I've had this myself once or twice...not the cat on the backspace thing, that is both bizarre and hopefully just bad luck, rather than an evil, calculating feline.

What I do now is regularly copy and paste it all into notepad (Word tends to screw up the apostrophes, dashes etc. so when you paste it back in it replaces it with weird symbols) so that, in the inevitable occurrence of me being a dumbass, I can just paste most of it back in again.

Seeing as my average posts in Queen of Hearts tend to total over 2500 words, it kind of becomes a necessity. Damn you Mshcher and your requirement for quality!

I use that strategy for emails too, and all those kinds of things, in case the server screws up or something. It helps to have a backup. And of course Notepad is better, it's plain text.

My cats have learned, somewhat, to stay away the SNES, PS2 and other electronic boxes that have yummy-looking cords attached. Keyboards are another story.

*sigh*

Claudia however, still insists on batting the screen whenever someone plays Tetris.

Heh heh. My girlfriend's cat tries to shove whatever book I'm reading out of my hands.

Get Ywriter (free) and write in that. It provides 2 backups even if you fully crash.

Artemis is even now attempting to claw my legs to get fed.
