My dog is currently gnawing on my arm because she feels I'm not paying her enough attention.

Damned creature. Steals my sandwich and then cowers and looks so pathetic you can't backhand it without feeling bad.

I used to have a logitech g15 keyboard and a lazer z2 gamer mouse (nice and big, not like these puny g5 things), until my cat got into the 'nip, went tearing around my puter room and slammed into my keyb/mouse table knocking it over. Fragile pc gear + heavy impact + tiled floor = shattered gear.

Golden rule: Your pet cats and dogs should not be allowed in the room where the computer is. BUT leave the hamsters and guinea pigs to roam around freely - seeing these little critters electrocute themselves on the computer power cables never gets old.

My cats do stuff like that all the time. Not just with computers, with anything I'm doing. If I'm doing home work, they come sit on the text book. If I'm watching TV, they sit in front of me so I can't see the screen. They're attention whores.

When it comes to losing text online, my laptop keyboard is set up such that the Page Back button is right above the left arrow, and right to the left of the up arrow. I have, numerous times, hit that button by accident when trying to move my cursor. It's very irritating.

I usually punt my cat if it nears my keyboard. Aim for an open window.

Every now and then, my cat will lay on my lap while I'm playing on the computer... He likes to press the Space bar a lot... can really screw me over in the middle of a fire fight...
Fortunately my jump key is usually Mouse 2 :)

I hate cats, I don't know why though maybe because its because there so stubborn, atleast the ones I've met. I would much rather have a dog who just loves you and thats it.
See, that's why I hate dogs. Anything that stupid wouldn't last five seconds. Cats have a grace in their total apathy and cynicism.

That was alright wasn't it, Artemis?

yeah me too, tho dogs just want to please you and be your friend and you can train them to get you a beer from the fridge

as for the topic on hand, i've never had any dog i owned do annoying things with my computer, i trained them not to do that

also i have a turtle that comes out and bobs his head when i play slayer or maiden

I have a giant spider with red eyes... it's sooo fuzzy and adorable! A good little boy, too. It doesn't hit backspace, it'll write a few sentences for me if it has an idea. It does occasionally bite people and start sucking their blood, though.

Reality: Prop left from Halloween. People do squirm and freak at times though, when I startle them by rubbing him in their faces.

Artemis is even now attempting to claw my legs to get fed.
The fact that you named the cat Artemis gives you awesome points.
I don't have cats but if I'm trying to do anything while at my boyfriends house, the dog will come and sit behind me and sigh as loud as possible to get attention.

This reminds me of one time me & my friends were playing on the EyeToy on my PS2. His dog was getting wound up & grumpy because we were all jumping around & having fun, but not including him or paying him any attention.

Suddenly he just made a funny noise, as close as a dog could make to actually speaking, walked up to the PS2 & pawed the power button, actually turning the PS2 off (not just resetting it).

Then he picked up his favourite toy & dumped it at our feet, like he was saying "Now that I've got your attention, play with me you fuckers!"

It seemed like he worked out what we were doing & accurately pressed the power button to end our game, but surely that was a coincidence & a lucky guess by the dog?

But he so accurately pressed only the power button & didn't also mash the eject button with his paw, it seemed so deliberate...could he have worked out by the direction we were facing what was responsible for us ignoring him & been attracted to the power switch by its glowing light? But why accurately paw it, not nuzzle it like dogs usually do, unless he knew...

About 50 bucks and an injection will fix that problem right up for you.
So will some rope, a rock, and a burlap sack so much cheaper than $50...at least if you live near a body of water.

My cat liked to jump onto my dresser and one day he knocked over my alarm clock. Breaking it. I slept straight through two exams. I keep my door shut now.

Mine keeps trying to bite the mouse cursor and ends up headbutting the screen.

I like cats cause they're evil.
