What's with all the videos, forums, and posts about someones religion or lack thereof?
Honestly I'm getting a little sick and tired of it all. Should people even care what other people think? Can some strangers on a random board even sway you on what you believe? If so maybe you should re-think your stand on religion, because it's obviously not very strong.

I'm Atheist, and it's something I don't like to advertise, nor is it something I'd want to push on even the most devote bible thumper (unless they pester me first). Can we all agree to leave each other alone?

Here do me a favor. Take a step away from the keyboard, take a deep breath, and think to yourself. ?Am I willing to change my faith because of what people might post here?? If the answer is the resounding no I believe it to be then STOP posting about religion.

Nobody's doing it in an attempt to sway others, we're just having a discussion. Seems appropriate for a forum.

They do tend to devolve to flame wars, however.

I would, but I'm still doing my drama logs and if I do that, I'll get distracted even more.

Its the internet. The reason you see so many threads about this kind of thing is the fact that those who have done what you asked don't post in forums and threads dealing with religion. So all you hear are bible thumpers or athiests bashing religious believers.

What do you expect? People of vastly different creeds typically have trouble with one another. And lets not forget that this is the internet. Anything and anyone here is open to rampant douchebaggery.

Case and point: read above comments.

I never said it was unexpected. But I've managed to have good, flame-free discussions on the subject of religion with some people on this site.

it's an important part of quite a lot of peoples' lives, so naturally they want to talk about it wherever they are, even if it is in a videogame.. magazine.. forum... yeah, i agree, it's a bit out of place, isn't it? :p
also my God doesn't exist, so try killing that ;)
good luck, I'll wait

Actually, I think we should all listen to this poster.

Alot of you people post before you think. You act too strongly on your beliefs. I myself have been guilty of this too. Relgion, or a lack of religion, is not a bad thing. Remember that.

I agree completely agree, why would you want to ruin someone's faith? some people take real comfort in it and I sometimes wish I could believe. to try and ruin that for someone is just cruel. you wouldn't rip on a gay person for being gay, a black person for being black, you shouldn't rip on fat people for being fat. so why is it acceptable to rip on a religious person for believing? its bullshit is what it is.

This can only end badly. reported
WTH? Why are you reporting me for asking a question? That's messed up
If i had mod powers i would put you on probation! religious threads, meta threads and repeat threads are three things I cannot stand. they degenerate into flamewars (as evidenced by your op) and starting one up is tantamount to encouraging it. I stand by my original reported

We aren't trying to convert you. For example, Im not gonna convert anyone here to christianity, nor will anyone make me an atheist (major ones on the escapist). All Im trying to do is help you (or general escapist) understand my religion for more than what stereotypes tell you and I try to understand atheists
