Okay so I'm going to start by saying that I am one of the few hardcore pc gamers left and our population is without a doubt crashing. This is due to all the good games being on consoles. I was watching G4 just now and heard about the upcoming Brutal Legend multiplayer. I check the games wiki only to see that the developer has no intention to release this game for PC calling it specifically a console game.
Why the fuck are developers ignoring one of the few gaming platforms that can be found multiple times in houses all over the world. They act like we can't jump on Amazon and get a 360 controller for 20 bucks. I beat Prototype and Street Fighter IV on my Laptop and it just annoys me that the PC only gets a few hit titles.
Why don't we get the chance to play Ninja Gaiden or Soul Calibur on our computers. It's absolutely rediculous.

Few hit titles for the pc? really what about fallout 3, oblivion, half life 1-2, every rts ever created, the sims, WoW and all other MMOs...and that's just off the top of my head.

There are also pc games of the future to look forward to like diablo 3, starcraft 2, half life 2 ep 3 come to mind.

... You're fucking kidding me, right? The few hardcore PC gamers? "Our population is crashing"?

Take some time browsing the forums. I can guarantee you're dead wrong on this. Just because consoles are getting to be more popular doesn't mean the PC crown is dwindling.

Firstly, it's ridiculous* and it's really not that bad. Ninja Gaiden is dull, the latest Soul Calibur is apparently not very good and neither is prototype.

We still get the likes of CoD: MW 2, Mafia 2, Bioshock 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Splinter Cell Conviction, Mass Effect 2 priority from Valve when it comes to games. You've basically picked 3 good (not great) games that aren't on PC and said they're dying off. If anything they're getting more attention then they've had in a long time.

And there's plenty more than the games I mentioned.

EDIT: Sh*t, I wrote this where there was no replies and it took me a few minutes and it looks like everyone else has told you anyway xD

First of all, there is no such thing as a hardcore gamer. There never has been, there never will be, unless you plan on gaming while riding a motorcycle, jumping over a cliff filled with flaming hoops. Second, it is not crashing. The consoles are getting popular, but the PC isn't dwindling. Try to do some research next time.

3 reasons why PCs are ignored:

1. Harder to develop a "cutting edge" game that runs on a system people can afford.
2. The high price of PC components (some video cards cost more than an entire console) mean very few people devote enough money to run top of the line games.
3. Piracy. The few PC gamers know how and where to steal games rather than paying for them.

Why would any developer look at that list and think "I want to make a PC game" when they can make console games that don't suffer from those flaws (okay, a small % of people pirate console games, but it's not as easy or prevalent).

Costs more. Thats why games are different on different consoles, theyre usually made by different people. and PC gamers are always looking for it to be better then a console, Cause your $1500 computer must be better then a $500 console. so when you get a game on PC, you expect it to be better then the console, if I was a developer, I wouldnt bother bringing it out on PC either, Plus, way easier to pirate games, wouldnt make any money from it, considering how much more you spent to do it.

EDIT: I know now that everyone has probably done the same thing, I replied 10 seconds ago when there was no replies, But I think my point is still there.

Undoubtedly, too, I will finish writing this, and there will be even MOAR replies.

Your argument became null when you said you're a hardcore PC gamer.

If you want to play Ninja Gaiden, play the man's version; NES, baby.

Okay I will admit the PC has a couple genres that just won't thrive on consoles such as RTS and MMORPG but those game are getting extremely repetative. I should back up a bit and say why doesn't the PC get more fighting and action games.
As far as our population falling, I don't know about you guys but I've been pretty into a few communities for the past few years and alot of them simply stopped playing their PC because many games were just not coming to it or simply coming months or years after it's console release.

I don't think it's crashing.

Most games that come out come out for the PC too.

I was unaware of this crash, did I miss a meeting?
You would have thought they'd have sent a memo round or something. This is the first I've heard of it.

Brütal Legend ISN'T a good game though, it's for a specific group of people, those who enjoy the metal genre of music.

What are you talking about? The community is growing, just not as fast as the Wii. Though we play with ours WAY more(OUR GAMING PLATFORM, NOT OUR PHALLUS).
Well we'll just find out about that when it comes out now won't we?

Personally though I am going to have to go with who cares ?! I don't I am glad that great games are finally coming to something specifically designed for games, and that you don't have to do hardware updates for every four months just to play the friggin' game.

So you have a method of knowing the exact amount of people worldwide who game on their PCs?

Could people please stop acting as if those of you who prefer to game on PCs are like a completely different fucking race or something? It's annoying and above all idiotic.

You ask why some titles are console exclusive? Piracy.

I was not aware of a PC apocalypse, only that more and more games are getting console exclusive, which makes perfect sense.

The games that do that, are meant for consoles. They get a PC port eventually, because that was the secondary priority. There are multiple FPS, RTS, MMORPG, RPG, and other genres of games that are frequently put out on the server. You have to try to look. The games may be coming out a few months late, but they are still out. The companies don't have to put their console games out on the PC, so be glad they are.

Sorry, but what the fuck?

There's a difference between "good" and "popular". All the games you speak of, the console-exclusive "good games" have nothing on things you can find for the PC.
Hint: Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Myst, Starcraft, The Neverhood... the list goes on. I'd pick these over any console exclusive any day.

In response to your so-called hardcore status...
Loosen up! For fuck's sake, a game is for fun, with the exception of some tournaments. If you really want your precious hardcore gaming, just pick up any FPS and look for a clan server.
