Has anyone else noticed that since Valve brought in the Mannconomy system, that they've been doing next to no work? Most updates after that have been from the community, and it's really pathetic, especially considering how much they made off the Mannconomy, you'd think they could put a little more manpower into it.

I'm pretty sure they are doing work. Like the other guy said Portal 2 and that whole Steam thing they have going on that they are about launch on PS3 and new multi-level (or whatever they're calling it) services with "Big Screen".
Next to no work? Oh right, they're totally not developing Portal 2 and DOTA 2, and very likely working on Left 4 Dead 3 and HL2: Ep 3, all that in addition to maintaining and improving Steam. Those lazy, despicable bastards.
Well, they did just add screenshots and are working on some new "big screen" project. I also remember reading that they want to vastly improve the online social aspects of Steam for DOTA 2.TU4AR said:

Eventually, enough hats will be added slowly to Team Fortress 2 to the point where, before you know it, the hats have transformed the landscape into a post apocalyptic Combine ruled world, and you'll say to yourself "That hat sure does make the the Heavy look like Alyx Vance".

They have more to work on than just Team Fortress 2.

Besides that, this was the whole point of all of those user-friendly software that they've been releasing over the years - To inspire the community to get out there and create something.
They want to see the community put their own effort and ideas into it since they're brilliant to begin with.

Perhaps, but they are pretty damn busy, what with Steam and Dota 2 and Portal 2 and, one can only hope, Episode 3.
Portal 2. L4d2 support.Tf2 support.DoTA. and possibly Ep.3 ins some dark corner. That's what they're doing, don't complain because they let the community take over item additions in Tf2.
Are they really doing less work? Or are they working on getting more games out? Portal 2? Half-Life 3 (maybe)? Something completely new? Hey i'm in favor of them putting more manpower on big projects that only they can do and let the community do most of the work of adding to the existing games.

I actually feel bad for even saying that sarcastically... Look what they do is their business, they make games, put out a lot of "free" content that i don't even consider that i deserve, cause i bought the game as it was and not on the promise that it would get better. If valve wants to make the community do all the work of adding to the games i'm not going to argue with them. Free stuff is free, what right do we have to complain about something we didn't pay for?
