I still use an old phone that has a very small camera and I only use it for alarm and calling people. Not having a smartphone for over 6 years makes me feel like I'm falling behind in terms of technology.

I don't own anything else than a 4yo medium ranged PC..no hand helds, no consoles, no tablets or Ipads/Iphones etc. Yep..I like living in the past. Or more like..I can't afford any of them.

I still buy CDs- Obviously I'm not the only one, but not so many these days. My car only has a CD player and I'm a bit of a hoarder, I like having CDs. I'll always prefer having a physical copy of anything if I can, and I'm just not cool enough to own vynils.

...I'm sort of a collection of slightly anachronistic technology. I still use a flip-phone for the battery life and full keyboard, I still browse the internet (and play games) with optical mice and mechanical keyboards that are over a decade old (though on computer hardware ranging from 7 years to just a few months old). I still use the same 3-bladed safety razor I received on my 18th birthday, some 15 years ago (well, the handle is that old). I still hunt with bolt-action rifles and breech-load shotguns, work out using old-fashioned high-carbon steel swords (albeit ones made using some modern manufacturing techniques), and I cool my house in the summer with simple rotating blade fans.

Oh, and I drive a carbureted automobile from 1974. One that gets comparable gas mileage to the best of the new hybrids... though once all of the new battery technology that's been invented recently hits the market, I'm going custom electric with it. Might go lithium-air or dual carbon, we'll see.

When I was younger I thought flip phones (plus charms/dangly teddy things) were so cool. I never actually got to own one when they were all the rage.

As for me, someone was quite surprised to see that I have a Mega Drive and a PS2 hooked up alongside more modern consoles. I forgot that for a lot of people these are basically disposable toys (it felt like sacrilege to type that as both a game lover and a nature lover). I also have a modest collection of big box PC games including a couple of floppy disk games (I'm terrified I'll accidentally destroy the floppies).

This topic reminded me of a time when, back in college, I was reading in a quiet corner of the library and some guy was being shown around by one of the teachers. He made some references to books being worthless compared to electronic methods of storing information. I wanted to run over to him and defenestrate him with the aid of my book.

Me too, I sometimes think "I really should upgrade and join everyone else" but then I'll take a walk into a phone shop and have a look around at the phones on offer and just cannot find one that I like. So I stick with my old phone that I only use to text and phone people with anyway, I'll probably keep it until it breaks to be fair.

I mainly use my cellphone for emergencies/just in case, and keep it strictly as a Pay As you Go tariff... so not sure I could get a smartpho e on those conditions at a price I can afford.

I still use an mp3 player for music on the go, and specifically a sony walkman one thats getting on for 8 years old now.

I find the dumb ones have longer battery life and are more durable. Mine has a dent in the screen from a screwdriver and it still works fine, had it been an iphone or something the screen would've had to have been replaced.

OT: My gameboy advance, people actually ask me about it. Was playing Pokemon yellow and got to show someone that my pikachu is named Cops because it shocks everything that tries to fight it.

My car doesn't have electronic windows so you have to manually roll the windows down. And has a tape player.
I still have a VHS player and VHS'. And a tape player. And a record player that if I can ever find the correct needle for still works. I play on my gameboy advance more than my DSi.
I still prefer writing everything out rather than typing it into a computer or phone.
I own over 750 physical copies of books that I still read and expand my collection daily.
We have 3 SD Tvs. One of which is hooked up to a Ps2.
I still have and play my N64.
I still prefer buying cds for music and buying physical copies of movies rather than downloading them.
I still send and receive postcards.
I prefer sending someone a handwritten card or letter rather than electronic messages (unless it's something of dire importance)

I too have yet to upgrade to a ''smart'' phone. I find them too fickle in their use and I don't like how the costs can rack up if you're not careful.

I have a pocketwatch. I get some odd looks when I pull it out, though. I don't really need it; I just have it because it looks nice, and makes me look more professional.

I have two. I got a silver wind-up on my 18th birthday with completely exposed mechanism. This is a new one.

I bought a second for around £500. A 1939 all silver with white face. There's an extremely exotic one that was posted on Imgur I'm trying to trace, too.

I wear a wrist watch and carry a pocket watch. Most people check their phones but why would I when I have the ease of a stylish wristwatch or the pure class of a pocket watch available to me.

Plus the pocket watch is a wind-up one so when the inevitable apocalypse happens I can build an empire around my knowledge of the time! Then I can truly become a time lord!

I still read the old, wrist-breaking hardcover novels of about a decade or so ago on commute.

Mostly because i like to think that by doing so im advertising the authors i like. That and obviously i got most of them long before Kindle was a thing. Much less me actually getting a Kindle.

I use classic notepad and pen, feels just better than phone and note app
I enjoy vinyl records, have several players all but main one were gifts
I also have a brick of old Nokia 5110 that still works. Since my Nokia 1661 for job number dies i use old stuff for laughs. Had to pay pretty penny for compatible sim tho
Occasionally carry pocket watch as part of clubbing outfit, and yes, it's bloody old, pre-Great War

And that's about it. I mean i really prefer books, I even print out digital ones but that doesn't really fall into taht category. paper will never go out of usefulness. It can't lose power
