It doesn't look much from adverts and shit but it's actually really good.
Is that the one with the loser-esque guy called The Hotness and they hang out in a superhero pub with the woman who can control computers, the woman who has super strength and the antihero alcoholic who can see 5 minutes into the future?

Anyway you might be interested in the Inbetweeners for comedy and maybe OZ for a drama.

Nawh, I don't think so.
Hmmm 2 brittish shows about half the population becoming superheroes... interesting.

Edit: Just checked the one I'm thinking of is called No Heroics.

I think Skins is amazing, but I know not everyone agrees.
Indeed and then the US decided to remake it for their own audience..using the same characters and plots. I thought the learned from The Office on how NOT to do that :/

Anyway, I only liked the first two season of Skins.

These two shows. Watch them from the first series to the last. Apparently the first two series of Skins is much better than the later two. Misfits will be so much more understandable if you watch it from the beginning too.

Also How I Met Your Mother.

Skins was very good in the first and second series, third series I quite enjoyed (although Cook was by far the best character) and the fourth series just went batshit.

It's fantastic, especially the second series.

OT: Chuck.

If I describe it to you it sounds ridiculous, but I honestly can't think of a bad episode. It's funny, touching, and has some great action scenes, especially in the third series onwards.

BrassEye. May not be your thing depending on how twisted your sense of humour is but for me, it's incredible.

It's basically a really dark satirical "documentary" series that offended a shit load of British people in the 90s. The same people did a surreal news show too (that isn't quite as offensive) but I can't remember what it's called...

Going back to offensive British satire, Monkey Dust was fucking amazing. The whole two series' can be found on Youtube. Each episode is half an hour of dark, twisted, cartoon goodness. And it's free on Youtube.

Cook was good, but I really thought Emily & Naomi had the best story-line. Cook & Freddy's just felt like Sid & Tony all over again.
I dunno, they just seemed to cry at each other all the time, and Naomi was particularly unlikable I thought.

Have you tried reading a book? I've just started on the discworld series, and I have a bad feeling about where most of my money is going to go.

Ah well. It felt the most real to me, I'm guessing because they're the least outlandish characters.
What put you off about Naomi?
She's pretty self-centred (and not in a way that's fun to watch) and seems like a bit of a 1-hit wonder.

I mean, what else does she do apart from cry or whine about Emily?

You have pretty great taste, but I sense a startling Star Trek lacking-ness...

If you liked Life On Mars, try Ashes to Ashes if you can get hold of it. It's the sequel set in the 80's.

Other good shows:
The Shield
The Wire
24 (Hey, you said you were bored, but are you bored enough for 24 hours? :))

I certainly prefer the first two seasons, but the third and fourth are still pretty great.

For pure "Oh god.. there is nothing but blackness" value I think the fourth season does prettyfuckingwell.

If you like sci-fi, you might like Red Dwarf.
Very British comedy, featuring sci-fi elements but mostly revolving around the clashing characters. And it is hilarious.
Just don't start with anything beyond series 7.

And if you liked Life on Mars, tried Ashes to Ashes?
