I appear to be too thick to have mods.

I've tried to mod Oblivion on several occasions but I just can't seem to make a difference to it no matter WHERE I jam those pesky files!

Well, actually, after about 4 supposedly gameplay changing mods, I have noticed that my HUD has changed slightly...
There are guides out there but it sounds like you may have not selected them on the data files option on the launcher.

1) they go in the "Data" folder, which is located in the Oblivion folder
2) you need to activate them, in the Oblivion launcher there is an option for addons.

I like mods that are meant to enhance the way a game plays. However, I do hate mods for multiplayer games such as TF2 that sometimes make the game pretty bad to play.
*I'm looking at you, diceroll mod!*
Actualy, I disagree. I love the dice roll stuff, although the servers never get more the 10 people at a time.

The same goes for that source-based zombie mod.
Dude, I love that mod! You are talking about the one where those four random people try to survive those zombies right? If not, then I guess you would be talking about L4D.... oh wait...
Zombie Panic Source :)
uuummm....your post didn't make a whole lot of sense. A simple way of adding a mod:

Have a modd-able game on steam, like half life 2 (there are loads of mods for it and the episodes)

Download the mod files. Either run provided installer, or simply copy the folder into c:\programfiles\steam\steamapps\sourcemods

Either that, or have any game. And copy the mod folder into it's directory
Thanks man and the reason i said the name of that mod was because some guys were talking about it but didn't know the name.

I like mods. I enjoyed zombie panic source on a friends computer and Black Mesa source is probably going to be what makes me get half-life 2 (free first game? Why not?).

Dont worry about running too many mods you can run up to 255 (even then you can merge plugin file's)

I love them. Especially SourceForts.

And mods for Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3, of course.

I think the mods for Half-Life 2 tend to get boring if you arn't playing with some friends, with friends. It's awesome! And I should really start geting mods for Oblivion and Fallout 3 :[

Wow. I have only just got into game mods, now owning half life 2 and half life 1 games for a while.

Why did i not get into game mods sooner? They are GREAT.

I mean...I had none 3 days ago, now i have like 5 half life 2 mods. And I love every one.

What do you guys think of mods? Do you bother? Or do you just not know how?
gary's mod is the greatest creation of the 21st century. period. it is per unit of price, the most fun you will have ever. period. efficiency. more fun than a pet monkey and cheaper than a blow job.

I'm really bugged about Garry's mod at the moment. I have one complaint: I still don't have it yet!!

Because there is a postal strike in england at the moment They forgot to monitor the post-office coms systems, and the system collapsed. So dad can't use his credit card to get me Gmod untill tomorrow-possibly sunday!. My week went so slow because i was looking forward to today-my friend is back so i can play Half life 2 again and Gmod. Fuck. Turns out he got it wrong and hes comin back tomoz anyways.
