Yeah, found him 1st go, but I'm a sneaky stealth type, followers always fuck up and give the game away, so I just tell them to go and wait at my house or wherever.

Found him the other day, sent him on his way home to the Vault. I plan on protecting the little guy until I get the puppies perk too.

Nope, but it is really worth the effort? Is Dogmeat particularly good?
He can't use any weapons, but he is a small target and does enough to take care of a small group of talon mercs. Still, I left him in megaton, as the path finding on companions is HORRIBLE. As I tend to scramble over things, its better I stay alone.

Basically i leave him at Vault 101 until a weapon is locked in a safe and then i use the nice little cheat to get dogmeat to get the weapon for me without lockpicking.

I didn't find him in Scrapyard - killed the Raiders but didn't get him. He finally randomly came up to me outside Rivet City, but by that time I was already Level 15 and so used to traversing the wastes alone that he kind of cramped my style. I just left him in my Megaton house for nostalgia reasons.

The fact that he can take things from locked containers is crazy but useful. He's not great in combat, but it's nice to travel around with him.

I got Fawkes and later on the merc and the slave girl, but never found the dog. And I played long enough to have every trophy.

I never found him, although I remember back at E3 last year, they tried making that a selling-point of the game...

I got dogmeat...and he died. Nearly immediately. Under a minute.

He(she?) attacked a deathclaw...

Im sure he/she fed a family of ghouls for a few days.

but i may get one of the puppies :)

Some of the evil companions require you to for one be evil or in Charon's and Jericho's case pay a lot of caps for them. Fawkes and Star palliden should be easy to find as you meet them by following the main storyline. My only regret is that Bethesda did not allow me to take everyone at once. How awsome would it have been to have stormed the deathclaw home with my own little personal Army.

I found him on accident. Then he died.

I like Charon. He was awesome and great in a fight.

There is a long and convoluted way to get like 8 followers, go ask them on the bethsoft forums.

I didn't even know you could get a dog until my second playthrough. I'd missed Scrapyard entirely in my first run. So I guess I missed him, until later.

I found him but do you know what? He was rubbish. Kept on popping his clogs with no consideration for the consequences and quite frankly i have no time for such a beast.

I never found myself too lonely though as i was chummy with a few of the other moody denizens of Washington DC. Big respect for Charron...oh yeah!
I'd never found him, but I hear he can be a nuisance...
