It could be argued that the Federation is white America and all the face paint and prosthetics on the outsider races are stand-ins for blacks, Asians, the Third World, communism, the homeless, etc. I'm sure papers have been written on the subject.

As for the specific episode you mention, the "black guy goes for rape" argument can be made, but so can the one that goes, "he's not human, Klingons are just aggressive to the point of stupidity, Klingons are as different from humans as starfish are from giraffes." Of course, when the starfish and the giraffe are both obviously human, the issue is confused.

I usually just shrug and keep watching.

I have no love for the Star Trek franchise, never been a fan, but as an outsider I will say this;

You say that because the Klingon guy was a beast and raped someone, it's racist against black people. If the white guy you said turned into a caveman did it instead, would that be racist against white people? 'Cause it sounds like you would have been fine with that.

TLDR: I find you guilty of reverse racism.

When I saw the title, I thought for sure this was going to be about the Code of Honour episode. You know, the one that got the director fired for making an entire alien race black tribal stereotypes (even though the script never actually mentioned the aliens skin color), and then turning them into honour bound morons, not to mention Troi being in one of her worst moments throughout the episode.

Wasn't that the one where the black chieftain (on the only planet in TNG entirely populated by black people) kidnaps a white woman to make her his bride?
