I have a challenge for the people who read this! The name has been eluding me and my brother for a good while. It's an old game.
SYSTEM
First problem, I'm not really sure about the system. It may have been PC, but it could have been Atari 500/800XL, the Atari ST or even ST-E or ST-F. Definitely one of those systems. The game was a maze game, not listed on wikipedia list of maze games as far as I can tell.
EDITOR
It had an editor. The levels were composed of a dot raster inside the editor. It had atleast one if not more premade ones as well as the option to create custom ones. The person editing the maze could select a color for the wall segment and place it anywhere by clicking between two dots in the level map. Depending on the selected position the wall would place horizontally or vertically in the editor.
PLAYERS
Two players could play with a split screen function.
GAME MODE 1
There was a game mode for TAG, where one player would be 'it' and run away from the second player in whatever maze was selected from the maze files. A timer would run as long as someone was 'it', accumulating points for the period of time they player was not tagged. Tagging happened by moving your player into the position of the other player. The players were represented by rectangles. The rectangles flashed white periodically if i remember correctly, possibly only when being 'it' or when being hit.
GAME MODE 2
That brings me to the second, (more boring) game mode. Players can shoot at eachother and the hits are represented by a number.
SOUND
While playing, there was classical music on the background. I can still humm the music
CONTROLS
Not sure about the controls, may have been with joysticks, may have been editable, may have been keyboard or mouse. My first guess would be joysticks, on an atari system, but my memories of the controls are so vague I can hardly be sure.
I hope these details spark somebody's memories because as far as search engines are concerned the game seems to have been sucked into a black hole....
Anyone?
