Wish I would have found this site sooner. This is prolly an easy one for y'all. The game is a 3rd person 3d action adventure type with RPG elements. I can't remember much, but I remember it used some sort of circle battle system much like quest 64 or ff12, but without the auto battle stuff. The game may have had permadeath, cus I remember having one character in my party die in a battle and I had to recruit a new one at level 1. It seemed to be mostly open world, but I can't remember the story. Last played around 2002. I remember needing to have skill points to learn a skill to unlock a chest, if that helps at all.

Hey guys i'm looking for 1 game. It's an old pc arcade-like shooter, all the models are design in polygons. It features the player in a plane (FPS view) auto-piloting around a city to shoot down alien ships. For the story mode, it started out from the city river, after shooting down a couple of wave of alien ships, the "zeppelin" of the alien ship will descent and launch more ships, after that the game will auto pilot you towards the city. After couple of battle, the ship will navigate up to the tallest building leading to the boss ship and you need to shoot it down in an order. That's all i remember.... Please help me remember! Thank you!!

So, i have been searching for this game on the internet for a long time.

- It is a Sci-fi/futuristic game

- Its a War/base defense game, you control one soldier and have the other AI soldiers help you to fight an army of aliens.

- You see your soldier from a distance (top down view), like Zelda games.

- You could ask for reinforcements (soldiers) based on how many aliens you killed, and i remember they would come in a small spaceship in groups of 4-5, there where many tiers of reinforcements.

- You had to defend a base, there where usable turrets there and some interactable doors etc.

- I remember the game title having "war" and a year like "2031" or "3000" on it, but im not sure.

- And i remember playing it on a Cd ROM on PC, in one of those "1001 games" CD that came with a magazine.

Anybody help me with this one? I believe this one was a ps1 game, players (or player and ai) were placed in an arena, camera was slightly angled overhead(not really overhead but camera was up in the air, they would fight with different characters. There was a robot that shot rockets, one that looked like a rhinoserous that could charge at enemies, one that I think could shoot lasers that looked like a devil vampire of some sort, one that flied and shot lasers that looked infantry ish, one female i think made out of what looked like crystals, bunch of characters. There was a mode where the game would be played as a strategy game where one would buy characters (robot and rhinoserous were pretty expensive, for example, others were cheaper but weaker) to put them in the field and move them across the area they could cover (some had larger areas than others) in order to either go into the others player' character to fight him in a match, or capture his base. Overall it was an arena pvp were characters had some sort of stamina to use attacks. Vaguely remember it.
I think i have found it. "The Unholy War", released in 1998 for ps1.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Unholy_War

Features 2 modes of gameplay, just like you said.

I played a game for PS2 I believe where you were a male character in a big haunted mansion kinda setting and you had to fight zombies or skeletons or ghosts, I forget if it was one or all. It was animated to look kinda spooky but I think it was rated E or E10+ so it wasn't actually scary. I remember it was third person and the character at one point used a weapon that looked like a super soaker that shot purpleish fluid and killed the monsters. I wish I could give more details, but this was like 15 years ago I think.
Monster House?

I used to play this computer game in elementary school from the library so this is from the 2000s but all I can vaguely remember is the front cover of the cd case. It had a bright pink pig with white gloves on its hands and in the background had some sort of factory thing I think. I have been trying to find it for days and I don't remember enough to find anything. Anyone else know what I'm talking about???
Looks like "Tomba!"

Bumping last week's thread since no replies

- About 10-15 years ago I remember playing a 3d space shooter games.

I think it was on windows 95.

It was arcade style - you looked behind your ship, moved it around the screen with your mouse and slowly waves of aliens would come and you had to shoot (mouse click) them while they moved around. If you couldn't hit them in time, they would fly towards you and if made contact with your ship you would die.

After a while you could get upgrades and then you would fight bosses. One of the upgrades is a bomb and when you right clicked it blew everything up on screen.

There was also this really rare powerup that I think I got once, which makes your ship spin round really quickly and send bullets everywhere for about 20 seconds, destroying everything.

The most striking search item I can think of is that after I few levels (I think level 2 but unsure) the game actually switches from being 3d to on it's side and the waves would come from the right in vertical lines.

There was no music from what I remember but the sound effects were quite eerie. The aliens would make all these strange sounds, and there was this computational style narrator who would say things if you got a powerup (Thing's like "power increased" but I don't remember exactly what he said).

I spent about an hour searching before I came here, and the closest picture to describe it is here - http://badgerheadgames.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/tapinvasionl6.png

Although it was much better graphics (as it was 3d) and there was nothing at the bottom (except your ship)

The game did have a score system and was very difficult (probably due to the 3d aspect), I never beat it nor got close.

I know it's a pretty long shot but I have to try:
-Old game,probably late 90s or early 2000s.
-Played on Windows.
-Adventure in first-person view.
-The player didn't "move", you just go from one scene (background) to another by mouse-clicking and also interact with various items and doors in that background, the rest of which was inert.
-The general theme gives a "mystic" impression.
-The initial part of the game that I did play takes place in a remote Hawaii-like island but with absolutely no people at all as far as I can remember.
-There were futuristic-looking structures and houses (abandoned) that didn't seem to fit, as if I had just time-traveled.
-The game's size was relatively large for its time, I remember it was contained in roughly 3-5 CDs.
-The CD label looked similar to an enlarged Sierra logo, or a moon with horizontal markings all over it.

Did anyone play a game that involved brick-shaped people (think Minecraft, but more pixelated detail in faces and clothing) and a town with a maze-like castle you had to go through, in first person. In the castle you'd fight bats or ravens, I'd just say bats but there was a raven involved somehow, either as one of the enemies or as a figure in the main menu, I can't really remember. There might have been knights attacking too but I can't remember. There was a tavern where the brick people were, you could basically do some interior decorating in it.
With the graphics style, I would think it's that old Windows screensaver except the walls were grey and there were windows looking out into what I can only guess was the town center.
Another one that I was wondering about was what I think was a slightly educational game involving anthropomorphic mice, focusing on an island. I think it was part of a series, there is a song from it that gets stuck in my head every so often and I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the game and I can't find it when I google the lyrics. The words I remember are "Give me a view of the water so blue, as far as the eye can see - something something something - this is the life for me. I want to sail all over the world to see what I can see, that's what's important to me." It was sung by some girl mouse and it gets stuck in my head ALL THE FREAKING TIME. HELP ME.
One more game, I promise this is the last one, is an old first-person shooter set in the wild west. My dad used to play this before my step-mom molded him into what she wanted and he declared video games one of the ultimate evils of the world (and now one of the kids grew up to be a huge gamer...whoopsie). I really don't remember much about it besides small moments that I can't quite describe beyond there was a dude shooting up baddies in a saloon and up and down the dusty road out of town. I figured I'd ask if anyone knows of any old western shooter games.
Sorry, that was long.
EDIT: these were all played on a PC.

This sounds like Riven to me. If not, maybe a game from the Atlantis series?

Wow man! I think I've been looking for the same game for about 10 years!!

This is what I remember:
- The game title definitely had a year in the title (like you said), and I remember there being "Alien" or "Aliens" or maybe "War."

- I remember it being either shareware or freeware, because I used to play it with my cousin (local multiplayer on the same keyboard) and we would download the game from some long forgotten website. I'm pretty sure the website also had other games on it, such as Friendly Strike.

- I remember the enemies being human sized pink(ish) bugs, with larger ones (queens I guess) that would birth smaller ones during battle. The strategy was to kill the large queens first so as to minimize the number of smaller bugs to kill.

- You played as the human resistance, controlling one guy on the battlefield. You could give orders to your fellow humans, such as "attack," "defend," "follow," and I think there was a forth one, but I'm not sure.

- The missions took place in different environments, such as on grassy type ground, caves, and inside bases maybe?

- I think there were various gun power-ups that would change your gun into a flamer thrower or something like that.

Please help me! Maybe it'll come back to us if we discuss it more :)

EDIT: I used to play this around 2001-2004 I think.

I googled Riven and it was it! Thanks a lot, I owe you one. Turns out the CD label wasn't a Sierra logo after all, I had already rummaged through Sierra's games.

The description probably fits too many games, but try these out:
1-Redneck Rampage (set in the south but not wild west, could give that impression non the less) (1997)
2-Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge (2006)
3-Outlaws (1997)
4-Dead Man's Hand (2004)

I have 2 games for the group. Both 80's to very early 90's. I know the first one was on a computer (either a DOS game or else a C64 title). I'm pretty sure the 2nd one was, as well, though it might be an Atari game.

The first one is an educational type game. It's about driving a truck across country. You got to pick either oranges, mail or some other product, and then had to choose which of a few paths through the country you would take. You'd set your speed and would occasionally have to stop for petrol and figure out how much money to spend (by calculating your miles per gallon) and any time you went over, the remainder would spill out onto the ground and be lost, because you'd not turn off the pump.

The second one is an old stealther title. All I really remember about it was routinely having to break into houses and trying to sneak around without getting caught or bumping in to anything. You'd be put in an area that was either partially lit or not really lit at all and have to try and navigate the whole place looking for....something. I don't remember what. I think usually it was a key or something.

I have three games that have been bugging me.

1 - A game I used to play all the time as a kid in the late 80's / early 90's at school, on the old Mac computers. It was similar to the other educational games at the time, like Number Munchers, Island of Dr. Quandary, and Oregon Trail. In this game you were a miner exploring caves, and you had to explore in the dark to find light switches and turn on lights. They would then flicker or break and you would have to go fix them. You had a pet bat that would be able to see in the dark and tell you what was around. As you explored, you would find certain items (a battery, a blender, fruit, etc), and at the end of each stage you would come across some sort of puzzle blocking the next area. For example, one I remember was some sort of monster (a dragon I think) that wouldn't move unless you made him a drink, so you had to figure out how to put your items together in the right configuration to get him to move.

2 - A game a played in the late 90's. It was a PC adventure game where you were a scientist on a research lab on Mars or something. There was a murder, and you had to try and figure it out. Turns out there was some alien parasite infestation, and if I remember correctly, you had to blow up the base at the end and escape.

3 - Another game from the mid-late 90's, I remember getting a CD with a bunch of demo games to play. My favorite was this on-rails game where you were in a spaceship and had to complete these track courses. They would get more difficult as you went further down the track, and you would have to be quick about moving to the next side and avoiding the gaps.

Edit:

I finally found #1 through Google. The key was searching for "electrician" instead of "miner". The game is Electrifying Adventures.

#3 was answered for me by RelativityMan. The game is SkyRoads.

Still looking for #2.
