BUMB AGAIN!
please someone help me :-( i never got any answer, please be patient and read, someone out there MUST have played this game, i cannot be the only one lol XD

i have an hard game to remember. it was an ms-dos game, i remember i was playing it together with Electro Body (Electro Man), so it could be in the '90-'92 about; electro body was a Shareware version, so i don't know if this one was a demo version or whatever else.

there is a name floating in my mind for this game: "Phyrian...Phyxian..." i tried searching for it, but didn't find any result. maybe the name is wrong or partially wrong :-(

i'll try to describe what i remeber of this game:

before starting, there is a short intro video/animation only showing a guy with a jetpack crashing in a sand desert (you only hear the sound of the crash), and there is a cave entrance in the sand if i remeber well.
this guy seems to be the protagonist, and it wears an orange/yellow sand suit (maybe space suit) with helmet of same color.
you start the FIRST LEVEL in a kind of underground tunnel, armed with a gun (unlimited) that was firing white rectangular thin shoots, and a sort of grenade launcher(limited) that was firing a circular red grenade. i remember there were 2 indicators, one for the health and one for the grenade ammos.

you have to proceed among this tunnel moving to the right.
you see a kind of blue pattern on the ground (like a line on the ground), and mountains on the background above the tunnel.
there is a point where the blue pattern is interrupted and you are not able to proceed; you have to shoot in some way the mountains in the up background to provoke a kind of collapse, then the blue pattern is restored and you can pass over, i remeber you can do it either with the gun (with time) and the grenade launcher (instantly).

the enemies you encounter on this level are a kind of green/blue small floating things. you can easily get rid of them by not moving at great velocity.
you end the level just by going straight to the right.

in the SECOND LEVEL, the background changes totally too, this new area was like a inner base/laboratory/whatever similar.
you move by walking, no more jetpack, and if i remeber well you wear a totally different suit; but you keep the same weapons, plus you have a kind of grabbing hook that you use to reach upper platforms (a very uncomfortable tool).

i remember that the moving was like a shit (for a child like i was, at least). no running, only slow walking.
jumping was frustrating...you could only perform small jumps (up, or at right/left direction) and you could not correct it while performing it, like: you've pressed jump on that direction? now wait only to land/crash on whatever you find.
..... well yes, a lot similar to Electro Body. coincidence?

on the floor, at the start, you find a pile of explosive barrels and more of the them commonly in the ground.
getting in touch/landing on one of those barrels meant insta-death, so you had basically to shoot them to clear the road.
you find walking/shoooting enemies with human resemblance, they shoot like red shoots that you can hardly avoid by timing jumping.
there could be a monitor/computer somewhere that you could interact to do something, maybe just to get informations, i don't really remeber.

then, on the upper platforms that you can reach with the hook, i remember you encounter big eggs, releasing a flying enemy, like a winged devil (maybe green), that was hard to get rid of.
moving to the right, from platform to platform, i remeber having found an area with a kind of floppy disk on the ground, and 3 or more surveillance cameras shooting at you. i remember you could collect the floppy, but every time you got it, it felt on the ground (frustrating !!!).
instead, if you moved to the top-left, you found another area with a kind of parked small navicel with the shape of an Ufo and a violet color (maybe).

i never was able to end this level. never realized what i had to do. maybe taking the floppy disk to the navicel? boh!

any help is appreciated ! THANK YOU !

I managed to find the name: PHYLOX.

Sorry if this one has been figured out already & I also apologize for a lack of details.

The game I remember was for PC, it was an RPG, maybe a JRPG but was translated if so.

I remember the view being from a "diablo like" point of view, turn based combat, and a kind of cyber-punk setting.

You made your selection during turn based combat using the mouse & not the keyboard if that is helpful. I had it some time prior to 2005.

I think I got the game out of a bargain bin & haven't seen it other than that. It was a great game from what I remember & didn't get a chance to finish it.

Thanks.

- Turn-based tactics game
- While trying to find the game. One game called Silent Storm looked similar but didn't include any of the next two things
- Breakable Melee Weapons (I remember a steel pipe)(and maybe, but really not sure about that, only certain characters could use heavier weapons)
- Featured some kind of monster ennemies (Insects I think)
- I remember a level that maybe looked like the outside of an oil factory at night

Does anyone know the names of these games:

A PC Super Mario Brothers clone where you are a penguin trying to save other penguins from being turned into pie.
I can only vouch for this one: SuperTux http://alternativeto.net/software/supertux/
I've played SuperTux 2 recently, and I've looked at screenshots of SuperTux, but it just seems different. The graphics were in a lower resolution. I have, however, immediately noticed extreme similarities between SuperTux (and 2) and the game I was refering to. I also remember that one featuring snowboarding, skateboarding, a snow world, a desert world and a factory world. It had MIDI music and the type of loading screen that I've seen in many other games which were made in YoYo GameMaker (an image in the middle of the desktop). I think the game had all the words in the title beginning with the same letter. As SuperTux is free, I'll try it out and see if the game I'm looking for is a clone.
Ohh, then I think it's Penguin Panic. http://sandbox.yoyogames.com/games/28-penguin-panic Although that game doesn't have any music, so I could be mistaken, but from what you are describing, this could be it.
Yes, that is exactly the one! I clearly remember it having MIDI music, and the one you linked me has music just like I remember. It is possible that the missing music may be a problem with your computer, so I thought I'd warn you.

I havn't played around on snes for like a dozen years but way back when there was a little rpg. I cant remember if it was in english or japanese... [Im thinking the latter] the only real thing I remember is that your party is like... three females... or at least it is at the start. Three characters end up in the swamp or the woods and they're nude or something. I cant remember too well but I'm hoping this jogs someone elses memory.

My brain seems to think early on you go in a cave to rescue one of the girls but... not so sure how trusty my brain is on this with how long ago it was.
Secret of Mana or Seiken Densetsu 3?

Does anyone remember that that free online, open-world, tank game where each player could pick one of 4 colors (blue, red, purple. orange? It was hosted on one of those free flash-based game sites, "freearcade" or something. It had top-down, real-time, turn-based game play (basically it would queue up commands and then execute them 1 at a time in the order they were received, but there were no "rounds". There was a forum where players could organize raids and teamfights or whatnot because there was no in game chat and there was military rankings (pvt, corp, sgt, lieut, maj, col, general). You had to pick up fuel to keep moving and could pick up weapons (enhanced radar, shields, missiles, dual shot) and could build a base with your allies by moving stones around to create a blockade.

It was ton of fun and super popular in its heyday (early 2000's). It's been taken down for a while I know, but I just want to look up images and/or forums that discuss it if there are any around. I looked it up years ago and saw some talking about a re-make but I just can't find anything now. Help!
I found it!. It was called Battlefield and it was hosted on bonus.com. This game was a huge accomplishment - as far as I'm concerned it was one of the first successful MMO games. Unfortunately, the site was taken down years ago, but apparently some guys have remade it essentially an upgraded copy of the game on TankPit.com - looks promising. I would highly recommend anyone who wants a good, simple, yet really fun to play online game give it a shot. I'll be jumping on later when I get home.

Probably won't be able to find it since it wasn't in english (Don't know if there was a US release), but I'm looking for a real time strategy game on the pc where the main character was a girl (I think she was a princess with blue or white hair) with a sword. In the game, you can buy generic troops for your army. You also lose the game if the main character dies in battle (She fights with the troops). The story had a bit of a fantasy setting to it and the art for the characters were anime-ish. (Sorry if I'm not very descriptive. I played this game when I was little and don't remember much about it. Game was most likely made between 1999 and 2004)

If anyone knows what this game is, it'd be really helpful.

Thanks :)

PC game. Old. Freeware, possibly browser based. Early 2000's. Gameplay similar to Qix. With the difference being, that movement is limited. You can only move within grid-lines. It had ghosts, witches and possibly zombies in it. My mind makes an association with early-era popcap games.

I've been searching for this game for almost 10 years now.
It's basically a 3D game with balls which you could catapult (jump) in different directions and collect stars (Pretty sure there were 3 types of stars. Yellow was the lowest one.) to get your score up and compete against other balls.
There were levels in Rome, on abandon grave, city working area or something, winter, summer, ect... I remember the music and the GUI. It's basically a blue menu in which you could choose what the ball would look like and what level you would choose.
There was also LAN support because I played it with my brother (Multiplayer). The original ball skin is green with an inside purple (From what I remember there was also grey). Actually every ball has an inside purple thingy or a ghost core and the outside is basically like another ring or a decoration texture around the core. I remember the tutorial level was Rome themed. You start on some kind of blue spawner and you catapult, even move the ball (jump) off of it. There was this huge tower where you had to shoot the ball and pick up the item/prop I'm not sure was it a big star or something else, but it let's you go on the next level. Sometimes there's an intro video in the background of the GUI (Main Menu) or even a playback video of someone else playing the game. (Something similar to demo record plays from Serious Sam).
It's a PC game dating from the era of 2000-2004 I would assume since the graphics look at the same period like Serious Sam and Halo: Combat Evolved/ Halo: Custom Edition.
Thanks in advance.

Hello, I played this game when I got my ps1 when I was a 10 years old and the game was a shoter where you had a crosshair and could swith between 3 diferent kinds of weapons: A fire based weapon, a water/ice weapon and a electric weapon.

It was about two girls that was being transported on capsules and then the "car" exploded for no reason and then they woke up wearing a robotlike costume and had these big cannons on their hands.

On the game you was able to free little fairys that were imprisioned on bubbles and the first boss was a Big bad robot with a big bad axe, we had to kill hium before he gets close enough to cut you down with the axe, but if this happened and you meneged to survive, the boss would die anyways.

Other boss i remember was one centiped on a cave, if you taked too long to kill it, it would fall from a dead end cliff.

Please help me find out what game as that.

There was this old game boy RPG that I used to play all the time but can't remember what it's called. I think it was a later game because the graphics were quite better than some of the first GB titles I had.

I think it might be a JRPG b/c the characters had a definite anime look and feel to them. It was set in space where you could travel around the galaxy in a spaceship to reach different worlds and recruit more members for your party to fight off the main bad guy's evil plans. I believe the main characters were some type of space samurai. It was free-roaming where you encounter enemies randomly while exploring the worlds and dungeons. And for some reason when flying the ship, enemies would randomly board and you would have to fight them off.

It was a turn-based fighting system where your characters where on the left side of the screen and enemies and bosses to the right. What I really enjoyed about the fighting system is that the graphics were awesome and there were animations for every decision you made during battle. If you chose melee your character would run up to the closest enemy and swing at them with their equipped weapon and there was also a chance to block or dodge out of the path of the attack. There was also animations for all the spells and item uses. I remember the music being quite good too.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about please let me know the name of the game. Would love to dig it up and play again.

Thanks!

I remember playing a demo that came on one of those demo disks that had like 10 or so different demos on it. This was definitely mid 90s or so. The first part of the game involves a kind of space sim. The brief part you play you're in your ship and are supposed to shoot at some sort of freighter in an attempt to get them to surrender. Or just keep shooting until you blow them up and you get yelled at. The second part involves a first person point and click type of game (think myst). Rendered cg environment, clicking in the center of the screen makes you move forward, sides makes you turn, you can interact with some things in the environment.

It takes place in some sort of cargo room I think, and culminates in a scene where you move to the exit door and hide to the side of it as a guard comes through, then you have to click on him a few times to make sure you shoot him before he shoots you. Then you walk through the door and the demo ends.

After thinking about it it's possible that I was young enough that I thought these two distinctly different games were one game somehow. But I strongly remember them being one game.
