Hey guys, I found this topic at Google, so I am kind of new here.
I am looking for a friend an old 2D good pixelated game of more than 10 years ago.
He told me the following details of the game thad he played 10 years ago:

- The main character was kind of a red weasel or fox like Sonic with a yellow belly.
- It was a 2D good pixelated! side scrolling PC cd game.
- It had a kind of blue sky background.
- There were colorful levels.
- There were kind of (exploding) barrels where you could jump in and at the right timing jumping out again or something.
- It was around the time of 2000.

He loved this game and would like to find it again. I hope there's someone that knows this game descriptions. Thank you in advance.
It's not a Crash Bandicoot game, is it? (Can't recall offhand if that franchise had any 2D games...)

Could it have been a game from the Bubsy series?
I've asked him, but he said it's not a game from the Bubsy series. But it almost comes close.
maybe

The game i am searching is a ps1 game. i remember playing it between 2000-2005.
It is a racing game that looks a bit like wipeout but the world was more realistic, if i remember correctly the race track was made out of water or ice.
The vehicles looked futuristic as well. they had no wheels.
After every few racing levels there was a combat level where you could freely go around and had to destroy all other vehicles to win the round.
This could be a number of futuristic racing games. The most Wipeout-y non-wheeled vehicle racing game is Killer Loop

However, it doesn't have any water/ice racetracks. There was a terrible, obscure early PlayStation game called that had water (well, "landscape")-based tracks, but no way was it a better-looking game than Wipeout. Other futuristic racing sims (where the vehicles have no wheels) could be Hi-Octane [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOEozcuLm-U], MaxRacer [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNi5q3rhqec] or Dodgem Arena [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tfrbwolsWk].
Thank you for your help, killer loop helped me find this game. The game i was looking for is called 360, seems like it was only released in europe.

Hey all
I remember this game from at least 15 years ago. It was on the PC and involved a talking tiger, Monkey pig etc. who were explorers and travelled to various countries such as Peru, Norway, China where you heard a song from that country about its culture, played games. such as in China you dressed up a dragon and lunched fireworks from it. wrecking my head that I can't remember it, loved it when i was a kid.

Thanks for your help.

Help if you can.

When I was younger I had a old game. It came on a cd rom. I first played it win xp. The main point of the game was you played a talking frog I think and your nephews and nieces took a time machine and hid in different points in time. The times I remembers where during the maya's, Egypt, marko polo in the arctic, and during thanks giving with pilgrims. The game play was a point and click and you could talk to different people to get clues where to click to find the hiding kids. I tried to find it for hours and couldn't any help would be great thanks.

I am looking for a game I used to play on the ps2.

I remember that it started with a guy on a hover board. Someone asked him to deliver a package or something like that. Then the city this guy was in was attacked. I remember lots of meteorites and taht the city was being evacuated.I think that at the moment the attack started, the delivery guy (can't remember his name) was looking at a big screen which showed some kind of princess or queen, giving a speech.

I think this guy then goes to try and save his friends/family and get them out of the city. That is about as far as i know this game since at the time I got stuck at some point at the beginning, and gave up.

I would really like to find out what game this was. I have a really strong feeling it said "final fantasy ..." on the box, but I have been looking through all the final fantasy's on the ps2 and can't seen to find the intro I remembered. If someone know what game this is, that would be awesome!

Thanks!
Reading back through the oooold posts - came across this.

Is it possible you're thinking of Phantasy Star Universe's story mode, mate? The main character, Ethan, is riding his hoverboard to meet his sister, Lumia (he's just got off work and is late) so they can watch a speech by the Divine Maiden. He's lightly hit by a hovercar; a girl gets out of this car and heals his wound and he continues on, finding out when he meets with his sister that the girl who healed him, Mirei, is in fact the Maiden herself. It's watching the speech that the colony is attacked by beings called SEED. While trying to run, Lumia is trapped behind some rubble and Ethan has to find a way to free her, which is where the gameplay actually starts if I remember correctly.

I adored that game. It also had an online mode, but the PC servers have long since shut down.

if someone found this already, sorry. i tried to go through all the new pages but didnt find anything, so i'm reposting in hopes someone's memory-bells jingle.

i'm looking for what i think is an old-ish game. i know it came out before 2009. it's a "shape puzzle" type game. the basic plot was that an evil wizard had turned the village into stained glass images. to free the objects and people in the village, you had to complete the image by using the shapes that fell down on the left hand side of the screen to finish the picture. the basic shapes (so the shapes all the larger ones were formed from) were a square sitting on its corner and a small triangle. it was a brightly colored game, and the background music was fairly gentle and zen. you could "level up" sort of, which let you choose new shapes to use in the images, get more points and things like that. i rem that some of the earliest puzzles in the game you had to complete were a bridge and a lamp-post. i don't rem how big the game was installed, but i think it counted as a "minigame", of the type Popcap and the like make. any help would be appreciated, its been driving me crazy trying to find out what this game was called.

i have checked Popcap and Bigfish games and similar companies' catalogues and didn't manage to find it.
'nother old post, this, and this game IS fairly obscure.

This is Fresco Wizard! GameHouse released it through RealArcade and it had very high requirements for graphics usage at the time, so not too many computers could play it without lag. I loved this one - used to play it for hours on end. It's still available, costs $10.

Ok, so this one's been on my mind for a while. Never played it so no idea what console but I remember watching a walkthrough on youtube. It was old, probably around early 2000's maybe in 1990's... maybe. Anyway it was a zombie FPS with some horror aspects, but I don't think it was too based on horror, and there were multiple stories that I'm pretty sure intertwined. The only one I can really remember is the one where you're a soldier and you either landed or crashed a helicopter near a highschool and you had to make your way through or something similar and you had a M4 and some pistol as your weapons. All the cutscenes were in a comic book panel-to-panel style. Fairly certain another story had a couple that had to escape a town or maybe you had to get to the girl's house to rescue her? not certain on they're objective but there was a couple and you played as the guy im pretty sure but I could be wrong.

Sorry for super vague description but I hope you guys can help.

Definitely not Resident Evil series. I'm pretty sure it was a stand alone title

I've spent more than enough time searching now.. this is my last resort. (cut my life into pieces)

Alright, this was a game during the 90's on pc (windows 95?) The game/application looked basic.. I remember it having a party setup like the eye of the beholder/lands of lore, with similar combat but much simpler grahpics. It had an overworld with top down view, and once you entered a sewer maybe? it became first person dungeon crawling. i can't remember much else.. any help would be appreciated. I need to know i'm not crazy. :)
Most dungeon crawlers didn't have an overworld...
And it was fantasy, not scifi? Does Abandoned Places 2 sound familiar?

Mr diablo already answered it, it was the inside world. strange game indeed. incredibly poorly balanced.. I guess the nostalgia goggles had to be cleaned sooner or later.

Hello :). New here.
Got this on my mind for some time. Played this game in 2003/2004. I suspect the game is older as is made part of a "multigame cd" (which i can't remember the name) with some titles like "hundry snake 2". This one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0eAkQzmiU4

As the game itself, I remind that it was a level based shoot'em up. We would start with 3 space ships that could fire as we pressed space. They would dispose on a circle, on the screen, and could be rotated with arrow keys. Asteroids and other space artifacts like meteors would spawn in middle and would expand as the level went by. I'm almost sure it made reference to NASA and presented some (fake i think) astronauts in the main menu, but can be my mind playing tricks. The space ships were all unique. One was reddish.

Draw a quick sketch from what I have in memory. : http://imgur.com/IpcCV82

Some of the aspects of the game are:

- You start at a house that gets wrecked by some robot (wich is the boss of the stage)

- The first boss is a Robot Orange (or red) fish

- The second boss is a Robot Yellow Armadillo

- You can recruit soldiers

- It's a platform shooter game that has some Mechs

- You can recruit soldiers, robots and people

- there was WC cabins in game that you could save game by going in them

Please help, my childhood needs you guys!

Not exactly a "find the name" - but a "place the scene to the name".

I rememember either watching my sister find this (less likely), or coming across it myself (more likely). It's, iirc, a primarily black and yellow area that contains a bunch of fleshy pod-type things containing unhatched, non-friendly aliens. I seem to remember the portion of the area that wasn't fleshy was primarily black and yellow, somewhat metallic. The pods may have been partially metallic themselves. They were at the far left of the area which you could go to, just basically a wall of alien "eggs" I suppose you'd call them. I am faaaaairly sure this was an area in The Daedalus Encounter as I seem to remember Ari mentioning something about needing to get out of there before the aliens hatch out (maybe? Don't recall exactly what she said, but it WAS her speaking.) They never hatch out as long as you're there, as far as I remember. (This part I am not sure of and it's highly likely I just imagined it - you can come back after they hatch out and see the ends of the pods "exploded" open, the hatchlings no longer there.)

I do not, however, remember seeing the "inside-of-a-machine" HUD style the game is known for, but I was never much for noticing that kind of thing as a wee bub.

Am I confusing this with another game from round the same time period, or was it in fact The Daedalus Encounter?
