I am sorry, but no matter how many times I read the OP I forget everything that has come before the last line. Mostly this is due to my inablility to understand what the last line was attenpting to state.

I've only ever heard the Clash version.
I just listened to that and looked up the original.
Gotta say Mike Ness's version is the closest thing to a country song I've ever liked.

I'm going to be boring and say this.

Bob Dylan's All along the watch tower, covered by JIMI HENDRIX BABEH! WOOOOOO!

Well I don't know if liking either of those songs makes me boring.

<youtube=hmHNyqNCfak> I like it better than the original. And Jimi's cover of "All Along the Watchtower" is definitely better than Bob Dylan's.

A good cover to be sure, but I prefer the version composed by Bear McCreary for Battlestar Galactica.

Mike Ness has a lot of country influence in his music. The thing that makes much of his stuff better than most of the country you hear, is that he is influenced by old school country, not this newfangled closer to pop than real country music crap that has infested the airwaves these days.

The Dead Kennedys also do a great cover of that song. In their version the main course is "I Fought the Law and I Won." Much more punk than The Clash's version.
