Becker. I've seen the whole thing atleast once, and many repeats on top of that. I just loved the snarky, cynical, hot tempered, good meaning, doctor. It was an amazing comedy and also delivered a number of good social messages as well.
And as the OP mentioned, Dave the Barbarian! Oh god the memories. I feel like this will be a thread filled to brimming with nostalgia.

For me it is a tossup between Married with children and Malcom in the middle. I actually still watch the first one from time to time, where I have watched all 10 season at least twice. The sort of dark humor it has is just brilliant, and as much as I love the main characters, it's there neighbor Marcy that cracks me up the most, Amanda really rocks that role.
It's sort of a shame, because if I start singing the psyco dad tune nobody would get the refferance =/

Any attempts to find this show now results in a certain other mad, jack, captain, pirate. Be it Mad Jack the Captain during WW2 or Mad Jack the Pirate of.. the Caribbean.
You have to combine it with the animation studio, it was a show that ran on Fox Kids and was killed mid-firstseason despite being well recieved since Fox are idiots.
Their last episode literally ended mid-episode with them falling off a waterfall and dying.
I loved it, it also holds sentimental value.

A few for me:
Mr. Belvedere One of those rare sitcoms that not only was funny but often tackled social issues without being too preachy and when they did preach they still made it funny, it also has a surprising amount of in-show continuity that a lot of 80s sitcoms didn't. I hope Shout Factory releases the last 2 seasons.
Night Court in IMHO one of the funniest sitcoms of all time. It takes 3 seasons to get it's self in gear (but even in the first 3 seasons they're are still a lot of very funny the episodes especially the ones with Brent Spinner) Seasons 4-7 are really funny. Seasons 8-10 have their moments but the cast and crew are just dialing it in.
ALF a sci-fi sitcom of the 80s that was really funny and had a 56 issue (50 issues, 3 annuals, 2 winter specials and 1 spring special) Marvel Comic series. A new movie is supposed to be in the works.
Exo-Squad a 90s sci-fi cartoon that at times feels like an ancestor to the BSG reboot. If you can get past the the really goofy 90s designs the story is great, the animation is a hit-and-miss but for the most part it holds up.
Farscape Claudia Black. Great effects, puppets, make-up, humor, action, heroes, villains, and a whole lot of fun. And I did I mention Claudia Black is in it?

I watched it religiously with my dad when it aired in 97 (I watched the French translation, original version was 94), and I've fondly remembered it since.
Then sometime last year, completely out of the blue, I had a dream with Terrians in it, and my first reaction when I woke up was to go on Amazon and buy the DVDs.
Did I mention that Terrians communicate with humans through dreams on the show? That's not creepy at all.
Watching it again today, it still holds up really well, though it's a bit inconsistent. The first few episodes, with Tim Curry as the truly despicable Gaal, are absolutely brilliant. The show loses some of its charm after his arc is done, but still manages to impress with some great stories. There are a few stinkers in the 22-episode season, but as a whole, it's still a really great show, and it's a goddamned shame it was canceled after only one season - that is, until you learn what the producers were planning [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VGW8P06dKc] on doing in season 2.

Gargoyles was an amazing show that I wish disney would bring back. Just as long as they ignored the kind of terrinle last season and got the original creative team. Demona is still one of the best villains ever IMO.
Another good one was Exo-Squad. I can only describe it as the lovechild of GI Joe and Gundam. It was a rare show at the time that actually told a long running story rather than discrete episodic adventures. It had a terrible credits sequence though. It just named off all the characters in the series. And never changed. There were characters in that role call who didn't showup until season 2.

Oh, man, I love HEY ARNOLD! to death. I liked it as a kid, but I rewatched it as an adult and it blew my mind. It was still funny, but the show was so much smarter than most people gave it credit for. It dealt with alcoholism, neglect, war, unemployment, and even homosexuality. The characters were real people, and not just stereotypes. Seriously, this kids show was smarter than most adult television both then and now.

It was basically EVA for children, since someone had the brilliant idea to give the creator of Experiment Lain full creative control of a childrens show. And think god they did. I think you're referring to decisive battles? I recall a history channel program like that. It aired in the states. I don't think it was hugely popular, but I fell in love with history after seeing it. I'm surprised anyone remembered.Leon Declis said:

Out of the Box
A show that all took place in a room made out of cardboard boxes that various kids would get into to do various activities with two adult host present... Looking back, it was bigger on the inside for sure and the two host interacted with both the kids as well as the audience at home, but only through introductions and stuff like that... Also, for what they had, it was pretty imaginative at the time, given how these kids basically made their own pseudo-TARDIS funhouse out of ordinary cardboard if what's going on during the intro theme song has anything to say about it...
Other than that, there was the show Caillou, which only my cousins and I know about to the point that we would watch it just to see Caillou's reaction to certain events, as well as Pepper Ann, which had a kick-ass theme song in my opinion, As Told By Ginger, which I still believe it was that one underrated Nick show that had a pretty satisfying conclusion overall, and Little Bill, that one animated series created by Bill Cosby...
One that no one on here will even talk about: Swat Kats. Imagine Top Gun as a kids cartoon but with a Batman Animated Series coat of paint. You had Swat Kats, one of the best shows Hannah Barbara ever made.

Pirates of Dark Water! I loved the hell out of this series, but don't remember much about it these days except that there was a monkey-bird that like pomegranates. Unfortunately the series was never finished, so the story arc just kind of stops.

does anyone remember a show than ran around 2005 or 2006 which was basically a teen "star trek" drama about a ship called the "star runner" on its way to settle anew colony (500 settlers in suspended animation) and the crew were mostly teenagers on the logic that they would live long enough to get there (because stasis rotation is makes too much sense, especially when It seems to be entirely possible), there was "Tane" "Deckhart"? "Pancha" the one with the robot chip in her brain and Zandy....there were more but I can't remember oh and too annoying kids called Cinamon and Tycho because why the fuck not?
I can't say I liked the show but it stuck in my mind for how dumb it was

Waltermelon hero's for hire is one I'm missing here. It ran here at the same time as mad jack and had a bit of the same humor in it.
Basicly the hero from a movie went missing and walter melon extreem fat guy had to replace him.

As for myself, I'm still hunting and gathering for series I miss, and desire. Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys, , Swat Kats, Pirates of Dark Water, Fantomcat, The Tick Vs., Beetlejuice, Goof Troop, and Gummibears. Never gotten to watch Pepper Ann, but the wife would love a copy of it.
Though, you know what I'm really after? Cat City. This rare 1986 Hungarian cartoon I used to own.
edit: Dangerous forum this is, just bought the complete box sets of Freakazoid!, Count Duckula, and Cyber Six.
The one that immediately comes to mind is The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers. A Space Western from the 80s that dealt with some surprisingly dark themes for a kids show.

Dead Like Me. It was quirky and even the main characters could not predict what would happen next or how it would happen. Would the reporter get eviscerated by a bear or would the bear scare him, at which point the reporter pees himself, while standing over a live wire, and gets electrocuted? Always go for the long shot, and if a bear is involved, bring splatter guard. The main writer went on to try a show on FOX that was equally weird, where the main character talked to inanimate objects. It was a fun show but only lasted 1 season. Currently he works on NBC's Hannibal.
