I thought that was the same in most countries. If you are caught ignoring someone in distress in Aus and are caught you will be charged unless there was foreseeable danger to the viewer.

There is no such thing in Mexico; you can literally get sued if you end up hurting someone even though it was during say CPR or pulling them out of a fire.
