Seconded, or in this case more like 100,000th. Seriously how many times do we have to say this before people drop the CoD/Halo hate?Frozen Donkey Wheel2 said:Are. You. Fucking. Kidding me.
Dude, the Call of Duty series is responsible for about 50% of the useless bitching that goes on on this site, and take it from me, that's a LOT of fucking bitching.
Frankly, I wish you all would just shut the fuck up about it. You don't like it, don't play it. I don't like Final Fantasy, but you don't see me making a hate thread every time they announce a new one. That would be a retarded waste of time.
HINT. HINT.
I'm not complaining here, I just think it's odd that everyone gets hyped up, and then moans when it doesn't live up to their standards, and this happens again and again and again but NO ONE clues in on this.jacobschndr said:Because, apparently, your the only one who notices those complaints.
Also, everyone plays their own way including noobs, get over it and deal with on your own. Developers arent going to change their plans because people complain about other peoples habits.

I refute this statement. Everyone has a very big fucking clue in this. Obvious pattern is obvious, we've just all learned to accept it. Why can't you?Buchholz101 said:I'm not complaining here, I just think it's odd that everyone gets hyped up, and then moans when it doesn't live up to their standards, and this happens again and again and again but NO ONE clues in on this.jacobschndr said:Because, apparently, your the only one who notices those complaints.

Everyone at some point gets fixated on one game/franchise/movie series/show/band. That's the problem. Regardless of the (wavering, in my opinion) quality of the actual games, fanboyism puts undo pressure on the series that simply churns out too many titles to maintain consistent quality.Buchholz101 said:Seriously, we go through this same routine. Treyarch/Activision announces the next installment of Call of Duty and so it begins...
"Oh my God, this is gonna be so awesome! I can't wait! They're going to fix every problem!"
This has been said for World at War, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, and now Modern Warfare 3. And within a month, it is immediately followed by...
"Dude, this sucks! (Random SMG/AR) is SO overpowered, only noobs use it, man, CoD 4 was SO much better than this!"

Some new game comes out and people have to complain about people enjoying it.
"Wah! They're so annoying! Why do they like what I don't like?"
This had been done for Halo, Gears, Mass Effect, etc.
Also lots of needless spacing.

And someone will eventually complain about that person and the cycle continues until someone makes a lame inception joke.

can we just let it die now?

good for you. In our country the "socially acceptable" game is the FIFA series and I fucking hate Soccer (or any other sport for that mattter) therefore I'm not even able to socialize with the ones who do play games. -___- The irony.R MAN 77 said:Just my opinion here but it seems like Call of Duty and Halo have gotten a bad and slightly unfair rep.It looks to me like those games have made us "gamers" about 100% more socially acceptable. In my school I can walk up to any guy (and some girls) and have at least a 60% chance of being able to have a conversation about a game like CoD(albiet usually a shallow one). They are now filling the niche similar to the one Battle LA and the Expendables occupy in cinema.
Also Call of Duty has made Russians at least 60% cooler than pre-Cod 4 times.
Because you are not even close to being the only one who notices this pattern. A lot of people have already noticed and made threads about it before you. Yes, it's annoying, but you're not exactly some lone crusader who is the only one to see the truth.Buchholz101 said:Seriously, we go through this same routine. Every. Single. Time.

see now this strikes me as a very honest statement. Every new Call of Duty people complain about people having high hopes for the next one then realizing its similar, etc... but then? They get it anyway. And play it, while complaining. If you have a problem with it, great, don't play it. But let the COD fans have hope, that this series that they actually enjoy will be at least better than the last one. I just love watch people complain about a game they seem to hate so much, and yet play, or better yet, don't play.MiracleOfSound said:I can't wait for MW3. Gonna play the shit out of it.
