This isn't some obscure thing known only by a few people, it is obvious. Incredibly fucking obvious. So obvious that I'm starting to think this is just a thinly disguised hate thread about CoD, in which case, why didn't you just make a CoD hate thread?

I'm not complaining here, I just think it's odd that everyone gets hyped up, and then moans when it doesn't live up to their standards, and this happens again and again and again but NO ONE clues in on this.jacobschndr said:

Everyone at some point gets fixated on one game/franchise/movie series/show/band. That's the problem. Regardless of the (wavering, in my opinion) quality of the actual games, fanboyism puts undo pressure on the series that simply churns out too many titles to maintain consistent quality.Buchholz101 said:

And someone says that we should let it die. I'm so sick of hearing people complain that something should die when someone else is complaining about a third party complaining about a developer making yet another game in an already crowded franchise.
This has been said for the guy who complained, that other guy who whines a lot, the dude who bitches too much and now Whiny McFadden. And within a month, it is immediately followed by...

We see it all the time, "your mom's gonna hate it" "all the COOL gamers will be playing it" "Best game of E3!" "Not for children!"

By playing a mature title and "pwning noobs" they get some sense of entitlement like they've accomplished something. It's sad, but that's what a real gamer is these days. Too mainstream for me...where's my Morrowind Sound and Graphics Editor? *glasses*
It's also a sign of the times, CoD would have never survived if it was a PC only release, because PC gamers were too busy with Half Life (1 or 2?) to notice a brown shooter with no story and a total lack of logical flow.

good for you. In our country the "socially acceptable" game is the FIFA series and I fucking hate Soccer (or any other sport for that mattter) therefore I'm not even able to socialize with the ones who do play games. -___- The irony.R MAN 77 said:

Completely agree with most on here. The majority of people I know all have the same "overrated understanding". But we all still buy it, and have fun shooting each other in the face. And that's all that really matters. It's still fun.
You aren't the only one. I feel no regret in saying the single player campaign in EVERY COD game is ok-semi good, and the multi player on EVERY COD is a pandering waste of time.
