The Flat Earth Society takes the biscuit. Yeah guys, despite the fact that even the Greeks of 2500 years ago knew that the Earth was round, you're still going to stick your fingers in your ears and deny completely a totally proven fact?

Wow, I suppose they deserve a medal for conviction at least.
Does that society consist entirely of Michael Atkinson?

I've heard some real crazy crap in my 14 years of life. The worst one being that Hilary Clinton is a lizard. Actually, I've probably heard worse, but that makes me laugh so much that I remember it.

THE MOON DOES NOT EXIST

Too bad it's just a joke. Imagine if somewhere, someone believes the moon is a millenia old conspiracy.
But think about it ? without the help of so-called "experts", how do you really know what you?re looking at? It could be a hologram, projected from various government installations throughout the world.
I really didn't think people like this existed. Even if the moon didn't exist, we'd have kyrinthia.

How about we make T-Shirts saying ''I Told You So'' and ''I survived 2012.''

I heard about those guys, it's quite insane.
(Also, I swear I've seen your post count go up by like 1K just today! First: How?! Second: Are you making up for a week of non-posting? :p)

Turned out to be an April Fools joke but I'm sure it fooled more than just me.

2012 isn't gonna happen. I believe the Mayans were overtaken and forced to change their religion by the Spaniards before the could continue the calendar they were no longer allowed to follow.

That made me laugh so hard. Cookie for you. *hands cookie*

I don't believe in 2012. So many things should have ended the world by now. What would make 2012 different from them?

The Moon Landing was faked

The classic crazy people talk like that.
I actually am sceptical about the moon-landing, as I don't see how a flag can flutter in space.

But yeah, 9/11 was an inside job tops the list.
More than that, the flag is a fine point, but how do you explain no stars? And why is it becoming such a issue for them to go back? It seems like NASA avoids it like the plague, its not even funny anymore.
For the flag, here's a simple experiment you can do at home. take a slinky, the longer the better. Attach one end to something, it doesn't really matter what. back up until it is no longer touching the floor and is not close to anything else around it. Now, shake it back and forth once. you will notice that this creates a wave to form that ripples up and down the slinky before being finally dampened by friction. As there is much less friction in space, we can assume that any motion imparted would create waves that would rebound and continue much longer than in atmosphere.

I believe that the lack of stars if in fact a lack of magnification of stars. If I'm remembering right, the Earth's atmosphere magnifies and amplifies the star light so that it appears much brighter than in space.

As for not going back, it's because that is an extremely difficult and costly endeavor for very little return. All the moon is is a barren, lifeless rock that takes several billion dollars to go to that NASA, and the American public, would rather see put into more practical pursuits. Seriously, the only reason we went there the first time was to stick it to the Soviets. /lecture

Have you ever stopped to concider that maybe the crazys are actually the only ones that are sane? I mean the only thing that desides if you are crazy or not are the social norms and the morals of society and what you know before hand on the situation.. And as we know most of the media of the world is just straight out lies and or trying to sell worthless products to you.. So think about that for a second.. And besides i dont believe any of those theorys but theres really no saying what would happen in 2012.. Its not like we can see the future.. I guess it would be like Y2K huh? Then again if we could see the future then that would ruin the entire point in living.. What would we be working for? When we already know whats to come.. And besides i think knowing the date of my demise would be a horrific thing.. Anyways i am just rammbling now.. I just thought what you said was completely ignorant and bullshit.. So yeah i just noticed my spell check came up with a bunch of spelling errors but you know i am just gonna say FUCK IT and let it slide!

My favourite is the housewife who was randomly told by aliens that some magical planet (that every astronomer seemed to have missed) is going to come so close to earth that it'll fuck up the magnetic field of our planet and cause catastrophic events like tidal waves and earthquakes and everyone will be killed. This was originally planned to happen in 2003, but when it didn't the aliens changed their mind and it's now going to happen in 2012.

Its going to come, go and the idiots who said we are going to die will look like tits.

like on 2000 and the other "We are going to die" years.
Actually, loyalty to apocalyptic cults actually increases if the "day of days" doesn't happen. They think they got their math wrong or something.

I'd have to say religion (and the people who worship- at least the die hard ones), since they base their beliefs on old scrolls, that is more likely than not pure fiction, and is usually not even a good read, by most standards.

Did I push it with this one? *Puts on flame-shield and prays(the irony) the mods won't intervene*
I think what you mean is that these books of religion were written by humans, and that since humans are imperfect, everything in these religious texts can be questioned. but hey its hard to prove either way.
