I'd play Bloodwake for XBOX because after having to play through that entire terrible game I would very much welcome death.

(I don't actually remember if that game has an ending, or a story mode. I think so though.)

If I was on my deathbed, it'd have to be FFX for me. No grinding, celestial weapons, or blitzing...just a journey from start to end. Undertone's just right for it too.

As such, I'd say that if I were to choose a game of similar concept, I'd just go with Diablo 2. As much as I'd love for a new game to come along that accomplishes with Diablo did (only better), it just hasn't happened yet.
You know of Borderlands right? FPSRPG with a loot system similar to Diablo, Looks pretty good.

OT: I'd play the first Super Mario Brothers game on the NES. It would be a short game, I remember all of the warp zones. But it would be the best way I could think of ending my life, so much nostalgia.

One last game ehhh, the Beatles rockband, mainly because I'd rather die to theme of lucy in the sky, then pass out into the night to the tune of silent might (Jee wiz I'm a poet and I don't know it).

Okay, after much deliberation I think I would choose Grim Fandango. The game is in my top 5 most enjoyed games, it has a whole if-after-death-themed atmosphere, its funny and it can be completed in one sitting. Other potential candidates would be Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy Tactics and Chrono Cross. The JRPGs were specifically not chosen for being overly long. SotC just wasn't as good a choice as Grim...

Duke Nukem Forever. Cause then I would live... forever :p
Hehe, your post made me imagine a medieval executioner, grinding his axe to perfection whilst he smiles at you. The game devs said it'd be out really soon after all!

Next scene he's still grinding, but with a small beard, finding it hard to keep up his grin.
Next he's swinging his axe angrily whilst being on the phone with the devs.
Still later the axe has complete ground away to a thin metal rod and the executioner is sleeping on the grind stone, long beard and all.
That'd be about a good time to get out of there ;-)

The Baldur's Gate trilogy. It takes something like 300 hours to finish if you're moving quickly.
Totally the BG saga. Heck! I play them anyways, dying or not!
And they would take forever to do...and then, when my character has finally defeated Melissan and turned down the divinity offered to you from Solar (I always turn it down), he would march into the sunset...and I would pass away a happy man...

Or something like that. I just really really like those games.

I WANNA BE THE GUY in very hard

i know... sadistic hell of gamers but it would keep me alive just for the sheer amount of times i would die in the game

and i could end up saying "I AM THE GUY" *dead*

I would have to go with Carmaggedon. It's my first racing game and I love it so damn much.

I still need to actually get the three years to spare to actually play them. :p

I would say a Devil may cry game, but the fun in those comes from the replayablitity which is clearly not an option. But that's really the only game with single player I like, so Devil may Cry 3 on Dante must Die mode.
