One Piece and Naruto

I am a fan of the two, One Piece being my favorite of both. Which do you like, if any? I know there are quite a few of you on the escapist who don't. If so, please state a reasoning to your opinion.

(Naruto includes the entire series, Shippuden included.)

I think One Piece is much better than Naruto. Naruto jumped the shark right around the time when Naruto gained both the Kyuubi, Sage, And teleporting power

Those may or may not be the only animes I've ever watched and actually enjoyed, which is to say, "did not claw my eyes out with salad forks to escape".

I never saw one piece but I liked naruto, at least the original Japanese version, couldnt watch the american one since they censored it and I hate that

I've only read the One Piece manga and seen the anime of Naruto, so I think I'm biased when I say One Piece. Maybe if I saw an uncut Naruto or read the manga I would change my mind, but it seemed so stupid to me.

Well Shippuden is fairly good though I never watched all of the original episodes. Though it's definitely not my favorite anime or manga. That title belongs to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood....or maybe the original anime.

I find that almost every anime will become more terrible the longer it drags on. Most of them that reach the triple digits become weighed down by fillers and even just plot points getting spread out over 30 episodes when it should just take 10. I prefer single season 12-14 episode anime above all else, though 2-3 seasons is fine too, as long as they aren't milking it. Naruto, One Piece, Bleach- they just bore me to death, even if they had a premise that sounded interesting in the beginning.

Then you haven't really seen One Piece, just the hollowed out abomination that 4kids tried (and failed) to pass off as One Piece.

Anyway, in case you haven't guessed I'm a big One Piece fan, in fact, One Piece is the only anime I've managed to stick with. All others I just lost interest in, Naruto included (around Shippuden)

One Piece is to weird for me :\ and to manny eps, the only animes so far with manny eps i like is Bleach (for the action) and Slayers (for the dumb comedy and a hero with no respect to human life to the point of blowing up a entire city just to kill 1 person) , and naruto well, after a certain someone died i gave up on it <.<

I prefer animes with like 50 eps, like shaman king and death note

EDIT : and english dubs by 4Kids, .. well .. they make an epic anime,into a 5 yr old kid show

Interesting. BTW I would NEVER recommend watching One Piece in the English dub form. Subs before dubs people. Naruto isn't great in English either, but One Piece was butchered in English.

I know your anime is good, and I WON'T let you finish, but One piece is the greatest shonen anime/manga of all time. OF ALL TIME!

I only read the manga. And One Piece made a miracle for being a really long manga that kept interesting, wasn't afraid of using ugly characters, banished emo, has intelligent battles that are not dependant solely in power levels among other things.

Good ole sarcasm. Yes, if dubbed then Funimation seems to be the way to go. Although the heavy censoring of 4Kids did inspire the creation of the Abridged series of shows.

They're both kinda boring.
I mean, the pacing is horrible. Really. A battle should not last longer than a single episode.
It all stops being exciting when it spans a whole fucking chapter.

I got about a hundred and fifty episodes into One Piece before deciding it was just more shonen bullshit and abandoning it for good.

Naruto had the benefit of being my gateway anime, so I saw a little more of that before giving up on it.
I still periodically check out the manga, though. Just because I'm determined to see it through to the finish.
May not now that it's all been pulled off of the internet. I'm not interested enough to pay for it. Or to put up with the filler-ridden anime.
