It says a lot about (mainstream, western) comics that while they've threaded very similar grounds to videogames despite coming into being over half a century before, they're pretty much the only medium with a more sexist view of women than videogames despite their headstart.

I'm not sure what it says, but it can't be a good thing.

Anyway, buy a large man's shirt, cut it up, and turn it into a minidress. (Oh, quiet. You can wear a minidress with pants.)

Equally, can you imagine how well a Catwoman "Swag" backpack would sell? But we're far more likely to see a "Sexy" Catwoman suit or "Sexy" Catwoman makeup kit.

If they really wanted to do something authentically Iron Man, they could have at least done shot glasses...

I'm not entirely sure where WeLoveFine and other websites selling tshirts stand on officialdom since they haven't been slapped with a Cease and Desist orders.
Hasbro seems fairly relaxed about creative Bronies as long as they get credit and their toy sales stay strong.

But you're right, anything along those lines would have 'sexy' in their name (along the lines of that comic someone posted earlier).
I really can't think what to say other than "it's an endemic problem with the mindset of masculine comics".
Which is a really cheap excuse.

Maybe I could say, controversially, some women's costumes are more interesting and creative than men's. Not all, some.

That is ridiculous. They should AT LEAST be providing for girls the same designs as us guys get. What they're writing on the shirts just seems stupid, I personally wouldn't want to walk around with a girl with those one her shirt.

Plus, what if guys want a "my boyfriend is a superhero" shirt?

I can see the problem, though as a 6' tall and proportionately long-limbed woman I usually end up buying men's shirts anyway, since very often women's shirts are too frickin' short and/or small for me. Or too narrow across the shoulders and billowingly huge everywhere else. But that's a general issue I have with clothes shopping anyway. :/

For the sake of asking, because I'm just bored, would it be better to not have girls cut shirts at all, or to have overly stereotyped ones. Because while I agree that it's very out of character for marvels heroes to be dumbed down to stereotypes or used to promote them, isn't at least a step forward that they made the girls-cut shirts at all?

Maybe I could say, controversially, some women's costumes are more interesting and creative than men's. Not all, some.

Guys have two sets of clothing. THE SUIT and THE CASUAL. Anything else is pure ostentatious. 99% of superheros IRL would wear a black suit.

Of course, there'd be nothing potentially wrong with having a magazine that speaks to gaming people, that might just happen to have a t-shirt shop, that might happen to have access to some designs about some characters, than might happen to be superheroes producing a set of t-shirts that happen to explain the ideas expressed in some of these commentaries.

And if, potentially, there could exist a competition to design said T-shirt specifically to promote the idea that fictional characters can be enjoyed by people who don't follow an inEscapist view.

Even this site is guilty of that. My XL 'Press X to not die' shirt has never been dried because I have to hang it up. If it shrinks it won't fit.

Blame American Apparel, which is notorious for running small. I have to have all XL shirts too, for the same reason. It's a troublesome tradeoff - AA make high-quality shirts, but they run small. So we can either get shirts that you can basically see through (not ideal for ladies), or ones that aren't boob-friendly.

Why must fashion be so complex? It use to be simple. You'd just make yourself a good knife or spear, go out in the woods, find and kill a group of animals or one big one, skin it, clean the blood out of the fur, and.....

Actually, that sounds a bit more taxing. Well at least both girls and boys could wear the same kind of bear back then.

I feel your pain. I went to the ballet shop the other day, and they had not ONE tutu in a male cut, and their pumps only went up to size six! SIX! I'm already reduced to wearing an ill-fitting velveteen/mesh one-piece that certainly was NOT designed with an adult man in mind. When will they realise that a full 50% of the population are men, many of them in plus-sizes, and start making ballet and floor gymnastics apparel accordingly? I noticed the same issue at normal warehouse stores where there is a wide variety of comic oriented t-shirts for men and women get LADIES OF X-MEN! FLOWER POWER!

Ratio was pretty even, really. It was mostly families, couples, and big tour groups. Definitely not overwhelmingly male or female. Enjoying roller coasters is universal.

Nope, it's not the best thing I've ever done. I wanted to try writing a script, and I got the chance to do that, with not very much success. But that doesn't make it any less jerky of you to say "this thing you did really sucked, HAR HAR!" I've done a lot of creative work in my life. Some of it's really good, and some isn't. That's how doing creative work goes, and I'm my own worst critic. But it's at best impolite to say "wow, you really blew it with that one, ain't I funny???"

If it's any consolation...I LIKED Gamedogs.

Erm...does this mean the next season isn't going to be coming out? Because I've been waiting for that for a while. Well, that and Doraleous and Associates. But that's another story.
