I try to keep myself as realistic as possible, though I have a lot more time to think/spell-check online then I do in reality.

I tend to not get into that whole " You'll never meet me, so I'll be an ass" persona.. I tried it once, it started to seep into my social life.
BUT, I'm fourteen, got a life ahead of me, and love to be nice.
And hell, I only get on the computer VERY often.

I'm pretty much the same online as in real life, thoughtful and polite, never looking for trouble. At least I try to be the same in real life, it's just that I barely get the chance, and there are too many stupid people around me. I tend to avoid talking to the people around me, while I can be a real chatterbox online and with the people I like which is, around me, not a single living soul. And that's no overstatement.
Unlike some people who seem to enjoy all of the freedoms from responsiblity provided by the anonymity of the internet, I try as best I can to say the right thing and to not antagonise people. Obviously I have times where I get totally frustrated but don't we all?
One thing I particularly notice on forums is that I tend to focus on correct spelling and punctuation and a broad vocabulary. If I can use 10 words or 50, get ready to read paragraphs. I suppose I'm trying to create a sense of thoughtful sophstication. If it comes off as condescension and being over intellectual... i can live with that.

I am pretty much the same online and IRL. The only difference is that online I tend to be the voice of wisdom to the youngins. I'm a bit older and while I try to play with people who are 25+, I do have some pretty cool 16+ online friends who are pretty mature. With those guys, I find they frequently ask me questions about college, marriage, and life in general. I find it a very interesting dynamic. I know when I was that age I didn't have anyone in the friend like category that would be so open and honest about life (my Dad/mom are great, but they tend to talk safe and not be brutally honest). So it is very interesting and I hope somewhat beneficial to those I share the wisdom of age... now where did I put my walker.
Personality-wise I'm the same IRL. However people like and respect me more online because I'm really good at the games I play. AS long as the're on my team tha it. It's not like getting top grades in class will get anyone other than the staff(and your mother) to like or respect you more.
I'll play with anybody, but I swear to god, if you mention rape, my family, or any combination, I will come through your TV and eat your face
Real life and online I'm the same. I usual ignore any arseholes online, laugh along with friends and strangers in games, and generaly don't talk any trash. It's why I'm still 100% prefered on XBL.

If a thread was like a room with a group of people inside talking their posts, I wouldn't even think about opening the door and going in to any of them. Yet I happily click on a link and type. Although half the threads I go into, I write out a reply, read it then delete it and just not post.

I try not to act very different online than my real self. I will get pissed off when I would in real life, I will shout at those who I would shout at in real life, I am as random as I am in real life, and never stop smiling...on the internet...which isn't possible anway...BUT I DO IT ANYWAY!!!

IRL I may get frustrated but I typically have a more cool and reasoned response. Online I'm polite and funny until somebody is being an ass. As soon as that starts I don't hesitate to tell somebody to STFU.
As I think about it more, my online self is a lot like my ice hockey self. I'm a fun and hardworking player until you start something. Then I'll drop the gloves in a heartbeat.

Pretty much the same, albeit much less afraid to insult anyone who may be willing to hurt me... because they CAN'T.
