You guys do know that we live in a capitalist society that will kill you if you don't earn money right? You guys have also read even a paragraph of communist or socialist philosophy and know that the issue isn't explicitly someone earning money, even lots of it, rather who's profiting off the excess value of a worker's labour? Like we're not against selling things. We're more concerned with where the majority of that money from selling things goes. Sex workers are providing products and services that people CHOOSE to buy and they get to create that and sell it directly with OF taking a cut. Which is a much preferable system to the standard "porn studio makes film, pays stars flat rate, stars earn no royalties and studio makes all the profit" system we currently have.
Like this is such a sad "gotcha" that only works because of an ill informed understanding of socialism.
Also, and here's tthe fucking wild part, is there actually a conversation going on about whether this constitutes real work or not in a thread where someone is talking about how much they've earned just from owning gifted fucking crypto? Self awareness is fucking dead.
Just goes to show the "my freedom" crowd are WAY more concerned with the "my" part of that.

See you say that but part of the purge on Pornhub was due to sex trafficking victims being used to make video for profit there.
Knowing some-one who has willingly done Pornhub videos and uploaded it themselves they got like £25-£35 per video basically up front paid by Pornhub + pay based on views too. So it's would be fairly profitable for gangs unfortunately

This is in essence a big chunk of the far right: people with moderate/socialistic-leaning economic sympathies who reject the liberal-left because they don't believe in the liberal-left's out-group sympathies and social progressiveness. So yes, they take a lot of opinions from the right.

These days whenever I see trafficking mentioned it's more likely than not it's a front for some kind of plan that will coincidentally fuck over all sex workers who aren't being coerced. Sex work and trans people are the main things the evangelicals can create moral panics about these days since they lost the war on gay marriage, and they take every opportunity to do so.
