I tend to be quite merciful with pretty much every insect/arachnid I find these days :p and I never quite understood the shrimp on the barby one, it'd just fall through the grill :(
I prefer our coat of arms on a barbie myself... and yes that is not just a joke we do eat the animals of our coat of arms
Not gunna lie, kangaroo is fucking delicious. Only ever had it once or twice in my lifetime though, it's a good thing there isn't also a cow and a pig on the coat of arms, I guess.

Actually i don't know almost nothing Australia. I just had the idea that there were a ton of poisonous snakes and spiders. But still i have always wanted to go there, because it looks interesting and cool, and everyone speaks a language that i can comprehend. But living in Estonia, i guess most people here don't know a lot about Australia.

I have no problems with Australians in general. I have a HUGE problem with Michael Atkinson.

One thing I don't get, maybe it is just my bad luck, but every other Aussie I've met whether in my global travels or online, they're cool and fun to joke around with but as soon as they hear you're american its like "Oh....fuck you..." and I'm always like wtf? We were having a blast, you ask me what nationality I am, and as soon as I say I'm an American you despise me?!
Until I get a decent response as to why the hate, I really don't care for the Aussies.

-snip- though i will never go to Australia (until all the insects are eradicated).
Well your missing out then and will for a long time, as those bastards can take a beating before they die (seen a hunstman take 2 full spray paint cans, 3 cans of baygon and a deoderant flamethrower and still scurry off, albeit singed and multi colored)
That's why, some gamma rays or some shit has happened there and now the insects are 12X the size they should be and indestructible, Its just wrong.

All I'd like to say is that Drive-Thru off-licences are some of the coolest things I've seen.

Also, what's your opinion on the outback? Like do you think it's cool/scary/interesting and would/have you spend/spent time there?

I ask because when I was in Austraillia in December '08 me and a few people I was with took a 7 hour train journey from Perth to Kalgoolie and then from there rented a 4x4 and headed off for an adventure in the outback equipped with nothing but some sunblock, some cookie and some Gatoraide. We spent the night at a hotel that looked like it cam straight out of a horror movie, in which we were the only guests. Scariest experience of my life, would never go back to the outback, all a bit Wolf Creek out there.

But yea, aside from that and the facist goverment, Austraillia is quality.

I think Australians are awesome. However I will never EVER visit you're country. Too many things that kill people. And big spiders. I HATE Big Spiders.

I don't hate aussies, in the recent past a lot of dutch immigrants went there (so did some of my family, although I never saw them).

to bad about the forest fires though, its better if they appear in calafornia and burn britney spears and all them other "celebs"

Thats why I love our outback, you can walk off and be alone expect for the critters around you and still see beautiful things on the way, although yes Bush/Forest/Outback at night can get a damn sight freaky

I have never had anything against the Australian. We do have a pretty stupid government ourselves here, I wont blame the faults and stupidty from one government on the people who lives somewhere. Australia is a country I want to see once in my life and I am thinking of maybe taking a year in Australia through school and study the aquatic life there.

I actually have no qualms against Australians. In fact, most Australians, partly because of the stereotypes, partly because of the accent, partly because I have family there, are total bad asses.

My only thing is the racism in Australia. Yes , it's there, and not toward Blacks. Its against us Indians. I can understand why, a bit. The outsourcing, taking of jobs, different culture, our really annoying accent and the ever funny head-bob, the penny-pinching etc. but really? Attack defenseless Indians?

here is a BBC link from 11/9/10: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8449731.stm

and another: http://www.asokans.com/racism-against-indians-beaware-australia/

I happen to know a friend on MSN who has a kangeroo as a pet.
uhhhhh... i hate to say this but that seems a little... strange... either its very yound or behind a very secure fence... with the whole "they can claw your stomach out", etc, etc...

(i'm more inclined to think that you've been had, but still...)

aaaaaaanyway, i like australians (partly because i am one)... and australia too... the sheer constant threat of death by exotic bitey-thingy is wonderfully refreshing... or something like that
