I'm all for getting really drunk, and I tend to have more fun on a night out if I do. By now I know my limits, and haven't thrown up from drinking for quite a while now.
I don't understand people who say "I'm gonna get paraletic tonight", and then proceed to drink past what they know are their limits, and just become a mess, throwing up everywhere and going to bed early. I understand that everyone drinks too much occasionally, but it's usually a mistake, a lack of judgement, or before you know your limits. To purposely start with the intention of overdosing on a drug (because that's what it is) just doesn't make any sense to me, and it annoys me when my uni friends say it.
