And the line between entertainment and advertising is blurred once again. Advertainment, hoooooo!
This, I can only hope things like this hope change people's minds about gaming. I'd give my left arm to have that woman tell people that gaming isn't some evil thing.Legion said:I don't care about the Kinect part, but the fact that a couple of hundred women are getting given an Xbox 360 by a mainstream television hostess is promising that people in the media might start opening their damn minds to gaming.
Ok, maybe I shouldn't mock this kinect thing too much. You've got a pretty good point, any positive story in the mainstream media vis-a-vis gaming is good news for us.Legion said:I don't care about the Kinect part, but the fact that a couple of hundred women are getting given an Xbox 360 by a mainstream television hostess is promising that people in the media might start opening their damn minds to gaming.

Yeah because those two will really convince the housewives...FungiGamer said:fffffFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU- Why not Seth Green or Jack Black? I thought they were gamers....
If by people you mean us, they already know that. The issue is that the market for "hardcore games" is quickly getting saturated. How many shooters were announced at E3? Around a dozen of them. Do you really think they are all going to sell?bigmolejack said:Till gaming companies realise that people want something to hold on to, a focus for immersion, these motion control fads will just continue. Please, spend your development money on well-crafted thought-provoking games instead of another poor imitation of tennis!
Fuck right, a publisher trying to expand their market-share, how dare they.Treblaine said:It was inevitable, who really thought Xbox could be trusted to carry the torch of mainstream hardcore gaming? They were only in this for the money, not the passion for making great games.
Now it is clear what is the future for both Xbox and console gaming in general: shallow Gimmickry for the lowest common denominator, united by ignorance they are easy to milk for all they are worth with deceptive pricing plans for cheap and mass produced tat.
Microsoft's plans are BLATANTLY clear:
-no more business with Bungie,
-Firing and liquidising studios all over the place
-Delaying major marquee games (Gears of War 3)
-No further Major Studio acquisitions
XBox 360 is morphing into a Wii, they're rolling back investment in hardcore gaming and leaving almost all on the third parties and lame timed exclusivity deals.
Consider that Nintendo fucked over their loyal fanbase for all that casual money, Microsoft seems to be about to do the same.
