Well Jaffe's idea sounds the most fun, but I think it would get a little tired after working through norse mythology, then asian, then I'm assuming various other pagan mythologies, and I feel that Asmussen's ending gave a sense of closure, and a sort of happy ending, which is always nice.

Interesting, but I think that the franchise would just get drawn out and become "that series that should have died a long time ago." I'm kind of glad they killed it when they did. Personally I would rather have the poetic tragedy ending than sticking around for yet another installment...
...even though they did sequel bait the end of GoW 3. Plus there's that spartansstandtall.com thing, so who knows?

Even though it sounds awesome with him against the norse mythology, it wouldn't fit I think.
The whole story of GoW is his revenge against the gods that wronged/betrayed him. I thought it was a fitting end, kinda like a cycle, ended like GoW 1 started.

Would have loved to see the Kratos vs Religious deities games.

You think tight assed conservatives hate games now? Wait till they see that!

nah, the norse gods would slaughter kratos, Not to mention I like nose mythology a whole LOT more, and would hate to see someone butcher it (again).

Have anyone played "Phantasmagoria 2", or seen a walkthrough of it (like spoony's)?
They could do as phantasmagoria did with Batman, THAT would be milking the product. x D

Jaffe's idea would have been awesome. They totally should have done that.

Why wasn't Jaffe directing anyway?

Davis Jaffe's idea kicks so much ass. It would have been beyond awesome to see Kratos go after the Norse gods. Then again, I liked the way God of War III ended. His final vengeful act against Athena really allowed the series to come full cirlce.

I don't know, It would be somewhat cool if they explained the interjection of other deities as godlike power was a zero-sum game. Meaning the sudden and violent absence of the roman/greek gods empowered other gods, allowing/forcing them to expand their influence, and kratos saying "fuck that."

Would allow kratos to essentially murder every faith, even the more primal and bloody ones of central america and africa. Then he eventually becomes the only god, finally succeeds in killing himself, and Bam! Christianity.
Some what cool? Your expansion on Jaffe's idea is badass! However, wouldn't Judaism come first after Kratos kills himself?

Well, if it's true that the Gods were mad at Kratos because hs stole their
Large Ham [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LargeHam], then maybe the other Gods are mat because of that too.

Either way, another God of War game would be awesome. It's just one of those games that never get old.

David Jaffe's idea would be f**king sweet! Thor's Hammer would make an awesome addition to Krotos' armoury of death!

Oooh ooh! Idea! Maybe he becomes one of the four horsemen of doomsday! You know, War? COME ON you know it would be fuckin' awesome!
nnnnnno.

Kratos is far more likely rip straight through the four horses of the apocalypse and keep trudging through more of Gods.

I agree, David Jaffe's idea would have been epic... though, that said, it can still happen...

Considering, Kratos killed himself but his body mysteriously disappeared... just imagine, ANYTHING is possible at this point with such a cliff hanger ending!

And I imagine the norse pantheon would do something in response to the death of all the greek gods. There's a power vacuum they could readily fill. 'Course, for Kratos to stand up to them he'd have to become more of a legitimate hero so the success of the idea would hinge largely on the execution.

Oh, jeez, Jaffe's idea woulda been so sweet... I can already see Kratos fighting a big black box with the word "censored" written on it... get the reference?

While the end made sense in the large context of the trilogy and what was originally Kratos' motivation, going up against the other Pnatheons would have been sweet. Sadly, compared to a lot of them the Greek gods were a bunch of pussies so maybe Kratos wouldn't have been strong enough to kill any others.
