Alencian chugged the rest of the ale and stormed out the door.
As he arrived at the Library District, he noticed an odd building with a peculiar name.

Do you have this?
He said to the woman behind the counter, and slid the cloth piece along the wooden table towards her.

No i am sorry, but we do have a book that looks like that, if you want i can
That would be great..
He said as he motioned his hand away from the desk.

The woman gracefully walked along the hardboard floor and stopped at a nearby bookshelf.
This is it
Alencian gave her a hundred gold coins for it, and walked out.

Shit... just more clues..
He mumbled to himself after having read the book outside on a water fountain besides the library.
He growled to himself as he thought he had failed, but he figured the best thing to do, was to follow the leads given by this book. He had to retrieve 'VI'. No matter what.

Hulian..
He thought to himself and tapped the closed book as it rested on his thighs.
Town? Person? Building? aargh i hate puzzles..

EvilJoe, I think you need to revise your character a bit, Otherworld may be fucked up but it doesn't have Predator style tech yet, I said you could have a small bit of futuristic stuff as a gift of power but as your history states this guy was a freakin' super soldier

Connor sighs heavily and reaches out to shake Murphy's hand and smirks when he sees his eyes widen when he sees the monstrous arm, "I'm Connor, I assume Cross at the very least told you where the hell you are. Well anyways, since your new to this place I'll share some info for free, first step to controlling your powers is to assess what the are, how they work, and if their are any conditions that could affect them." Connor walks over to the bar and the bartender pours him a glass of scotch which he takes a sip of, "Step two, learn how to use your mutations to your advantage. Guys like you and me where blessed with alterations that could help use down the road, my claws and your Sasquatch arms are great advantages when a fight starts up." Connor takes another sip of scotch, "Step three, learn some extra abilities, when I arrived here I didn't no shit, but after a few years I learned not only how to use my own abilities but was smart enough to take a few self defense lessons, after that I learned how to enchant this coat so I could use is as a storage device." Connor then reaches into the empty space between his body and coat and pulls his Ninjato out again, "See? You look like you can handle yourself when I fight starts up but magic is still an essential part of Otherworld, life is hard around here on those that refuse to use it."

Connor gets up to leave when a familiar furry face walks through the door, "Well Brandon, long time no see, still buried waist deep in books I assume? I'd love separate you from your money but as you see we had a bit of an incident, couple of rowdy regulars went a bit overboard, didn't even give me time to take a few bets, Come back tomorrow and I assure you I can stir up a fight for ya." Connor winks at the fuzzy scholar as he says this and takes a seat across from him, Connor made a point not to befriend clients but Brandon visited the bar so much he found it hard not to like him.

admiring his new gloves, Sylvester arrived at the library district just in time to see the man in the white robe enter a building. glancing in, he saw him talking to an assistant, who then took him to buy a book. ducking round the corner as the man left, he then entered and spoke with the assistant.

-"i was wondering please miss, there was a man wearing white robes in here earlier, and he purchased a book. would you happen to have any other copies of that book?"

upon being told that they didn't, he left in frustration. he saw the man sitting on the edge of a fountain with the book in his hands. after considering the situation carefully, he decided against approaching him. it was tempting, but the mask he had purchased from the shop in addition to the gloves would not serve as much of a disguise for him when the eye holes glowed bright blue.

he wondered to himself briefly why he was doing this. he had no idea what this man even wanted. what was the point in following him? after considering that the best answer was probably just curiosity, he went back into the shop...

Alencian stood up in a hurry.
Hulian... hmmm maybe there's some information at the Cemetery District...

He turned on his heel and was thinking out loud, he does that sometimes to help him concentrate, but more often than he chooses to, he thinks loudly enough for un-wanted ears to listen in on it.

Maybe something in the graves? maybe a tombstone, might there be a graverobber in the District? .... hmmm ... maybe...
A nearby guard heard a portion of this, but what he heard was graverobber District. He found it peculiar and approached Alencian.

Excuse me sir, where are you headed?
Cemetery District
Ah..ha.. you're gonna have to come with me sir..
Alencian refused, but the guard drew his sword and ordered him to show him the book.
I will not... you have no authority over me!
You will.... yes sir, go on your way, i will not bother you and i will go home to my wife and have sex with her..
The guard sheathed his sword and started to head back into the Library District towards the living area.

Alencian kept walking towards the Cemetery District, it wasn't far away so the walk wouldn't take long.

Sylvester turned around after buying his new book, and started. the man he was following was already at the other end of the street, talking to a guard. quickly he exited the shop, and attempted to run after him while not drawing attention to himself.

as the guard started walking towards him, Sylvester noticed a slightly glazed look in his eyes. he did not reflect on this for long however, as at this moment the white robed man turned and briefly saw him.

Sylvester quickly made his running into a power walk, but he knew this was not good. he had now been seen, and it would be suspicious if he was seen to be following him. he would have to be far more careful from now on. and there was too much distance between them for him to stop and wait. if he wanted to keep it up, his only choice was to appear to be going in a similar direction by chance. he attempted this, but with his target once again facing the other way, it was hard to tell if the man had even looked properly at him.

he decided to follow him for now, and try to catch up slightly. hopefully he wouldn't be seen again, or he would definitely make the target suspicious...

Brandon chukled "Thanks Conner, I'll be there." He said grabing a drink off the tray of a passing waitress. "So who cause the fight this time. The Cross guy again?"

Murphy slipped out of the bar with his newly acquired coin pouch. He slipped his fingers inside the pack and let the coins sift through his fingers. I don't need to eat? .

As Murphy was walking he saw a studious young man jingle past him. Literally jingle, his coin pouch was almost busting at the seems.

Fuck it.

Murphy followed behind the man waiting for him to stop. The second he did, Murphy reached out, closed his eyes, and yanked the bag free.

"Thank you" he said before sprinting off with his eyes closed.

As Alencian arrived at the Cemetery District, the first thing he saw was the bar. The second thing he saw was a man outside in the street incredibly surprised and looked angry.

What the fudge?
But then he realized the problem, he activated The Eye and saw the background had a strange jelly-like motion and the dirt was squirting upwards in a straight line.

Fucking amateurs...
Alencian entered the bar and sat down.

Hulian ... what is it?
That information is gonna cost you a... there is a man that works in the graveyard nearby named Hulian.
What does he do?
He sells vampire blood and digs graves at the cemetery, its about 500 meters due west of here, there's this old looking shack, he lives there..

Alencian slammed a gold coin onto the bar table and stormed out again.

"I assume Cross had something to do with it, old bastard is always stirring up trouble, but on the plus side it creates business for me." Connor takes a sip of scotch and turns to see Murphy charging out the door with a full coin purse an a really pissed off guy chasing him, "Well, its seems like you'll get your fix after all, I'll put ten on the thief." he says while getting up to follow and watch.

i was outa the door. and i am still inviso-hints eyes closed. but for sake of the game i opened up my eyes and the guy caught me. You can see me out of the window .

Realizing his folly, He drew his knife and dropped the bag of coins into his web gear.

"Listen man, i'm new hear. I don't mean any harm." He said as he stretched out his sasquatch arms to get a feeling of his reach. "I don't want things to get messy. Let me just keep half the purse and i'll go on my way."

The stranger's hands began to grow and eery red, to match his pulsating eyes. His fists started to surge with fire.

"Well fuck me sideways. . ."

Alencian noticed a fight starting out in the streets and noticed that Connor came running.

I got dibs on that thief..
He reached into his purse and grabbed fifty gold coins and placed them in Connor's hands.

Now, there is a certain level of surprise that comes when you first see some one shoot red lighting from there eyes. It's the type of surprise that usually gets some one killed, or at least seriously injured, its the type of surprise where you close your eyes tight and drop to the floor hoping you dont get hit. Funny thing is, Murphy has a natural camouflage that activates when ever he closes his eyes. So that little act of cowardice saved his life, and gave him the advantage. Rolling foreward he shot his eyes open and swung the dagger in a wide sweeping arc, just missing his opponents stomach, and splitting open his shirt.

With a quick reversal his dagger dashed across the mans eyes, cutting open flesh and smearing blood into the glowing red orbs. This caused his opponent to grab for his face (with his burning hands), and scream in agony. With out missing a beat Murphy ran off, using his long arms to pull him over obstacles and onto roofs.

Sylvester watched this in surprise. following the white robed man, now wearing his new mask, he had looked at that fight and expected a newcomer to this world to get slaughtered by someone who knew what his powers were. and instead they were now nearly blinded.

he could see he was not the only one who had made this mistake. the man he was trailing had handed Conner some gold and was now looking annoyed about it, so it was logical to assume he had lost a bet.

Sylvester shrugged. oh well, he thought, it's not as if it's important anyway. he turned his attention back on the white robed man...

Alencian gazed into Connor's eyes.

Do you know anything about Hulian?
But before Connor managed to answer, Alencian took off running towards the cemetery the bartender had directed him towards.

Followed? No way! Agh, he must have seen me at the library! DAMN IT!
Alencian kept running. As he came to a large gate, he used Traitor's Voice on one of the guards and convinced him to stop whoever tried to come through the gate after him.

That ought'a hold him for a while! Now where's that goddamn cemetery?!
Alencian started to speedwalk. He had grown tired, and the cemetery was within sight. All he had to do was find that ring, and this all would be over.

Why does it have to be so hard?
He thought to himself.

shit, he's seen me.

Sylvester sprinted after him. he saw him speaking to a guard as he got to a gate, and then the guard turned towards him with a determined look. as the white robed man passed through the gate, Sylvester continued towards it, taking out his chain.

as he reached the gate, he swung his chain up to the top of the gate. it coiled around it, and Sylvester started to climb. the guard attempted to follow, but Sylvester applied his little finger to it and used his lightening ability. the guard was blasted off, stunned.

as Sylvester reached the top, it was just in time to see the white robed man round a corner. "i'd better watch him from up here." he thought. "the rooftops would be a better method for watching then the street now that my target had seen me, even if i am now wearing a mask, although unfortunately it means i cant see him quite as well either..."

he shrugged. "oh well" he thought, and started to head towards the end of the rooftops, before realising that he had no idea where his quarry had gone after turning that corner. "great, now i have to guess where he's going." despairing at his own sense of needless curiosity, Sylvester made an educated guess...

"Damn. Lost that bet." Brandon said handing Conner twenty coins. "Ah well. I it looks like there's another prospect of a fight let me know. I'll be inside."

Connor throws the coins into the empty space between his body and coat where they disappear into thin air, hidden within the same magic spell as his sword. Connor starts walking towards his house while pondering the odd question the man in white had given him before running off towards the closest cemetery, "Hulian....it sounds so familiar.......Hulian....Hulian......wait, oh hell no." Connor turns on his heels and within a split second his wings shoot out of his back and he takes off at lighting speed, he had no idea what the man in white wanted with an old gravedigger but he was sure bad things where about to happen.

Alencian arrived at the cemetery. There was a big arc over the gate into the cemetery. Just inside the chest high dark steel fence, was the old shack he had heard about.

Excuse me... are you Hulian?
Alencian motioned towards a man walking away from the shack holding a shovel and a big bag.

Who's asking?
I'm looking for a place to... get some, you know what now..
I don't deal with any of that anymore...

Alencian walked towards him.
Yes, why won't you just follow me inside, i'll get you something. You must be tired, you look that way atleast.
The man took Alencian inside. The two of them soon exited the house and sat down at a small square table with a few bust up old wooden chairs.

Do you know where i can find this?
Hmmmm, yes... i recall seeing some of those markings on one of the tombs we have. It's far up in that hill over there.. it's almost a fifteen minute walk..

Alencian stood up and took back the cloth paper. He saw a small flying figure in the distance, and another one creeping around the rooftops far away.
That son of a ***** is gonna run out of rooftops before he even reaches here... he damn well better be ready...
Alencian then reset his interest on the flying figure, but figured it to be a bird or harpy, maybe a gargoyle. Anyway, the guards would be more than happy to take care of it if it was hostile, and he was busy and running out of time.

He thanked the man and started speedwalking towards the hill.
