Here's something to think about,
A while ago, Xbox allowed you to sync your MSN Messenger account to your Live Account, meaning people everywhere can annoy the hell out of you and not understand why you do not have a Keyboard. I found it a nifty feature with the addition of my USB Keyboard. Still, there were some added problems.
Along with, Recently, they went quite insane and now have several different messengers, including LIVE, which I found out recently, explains why on XBox, it changes my display name to my name, my REAL Name.
Sure, it was only my first name, but it freaked me out. I mean, I don't exactly surf the internet broadcasting it, I go by a nickname, like most of us. I quickly figured out how to change it and did, bit it still worried me, later, I thought back to it and wondered why.
It's 2009, I can understand full names, but people still float around behind nicknames, they add a customization to our names, let us define ourselves, and maybe show something about us, but still, I know a few people who add their first names to their Nicknames, or to their daily actions, but I don't know tons of them.
My question is this, why do people use nicknames? I've used roughly 4 in my lifetime, but recently they have been growing in their own way. What's your nickname, for Games, and the Internet? Do you use it as an Alias, or do you just have it because everyone else does? Do you hide behind it or don't care about people knowing who you really are? It's an interesting thought, sorry if this is too private for anyone, but I want others opinions on this, my crazy thoughts...
