This piece doesn't really seem to fit either the modern political situation or the fictional one.

I mean, "blasters make us all equal" is kind of a silly thing to say in an age of droid armies and orbital turbolaser bombardment, just like "guns make us all equal" is a ridiculous thing to say in an age of tanks and strike bombers and nuclear missiles. "Blasters make us all equal except the guys who can deflect the with their fancy energy swords, and this is the main reason to kill off Jedi" is an even sillier thing to say.

It's all too dry for a pamphlet, too. A tyrant's propaganda machine is supposed to spew slogans. You're giving us... doctrines. It's like the opening speech at a meeting of the Imperial Junior Debate Society.

I can't really be moved to have a serious debate about a wingnut political pamphlet in a totally fictional society.
A Modest Proposal 1, unintentionally hilarious internet guy 0
I have read Swift, my dear, and you are no Swift. I've read "A Modest Proposal," which was a satire set in the Swift's contemporary Ireland, not set a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. This is no Modest Proposal, it's no satire, it's the opening page of a piece of Star Wars fanfic. And just because you wrote this doesn't mean it's your point of view. I've written a piece about military torture from the torturer's point of view. That doesn't mean I endorse waterboarding and mind-games. You walk in throw this down, then get pissed when we don't talk about it, but you still haven't talked about it yourself. Do you have nothing to say about your own work?

My Little Pony fanfiction has more in common with Swift's work than this thread does.
