I'm paranoid about the tiniest things.
Example: If someone says something like...
"I like your hair, it's pretty."
I'll end up thinking-
"No, it's not. You're lying."
I'll 'believe' them, but not really.
Even about emotions. If someone says,
"I'm angry."
I'll think-
"No, you're not. You're overreacting."
And other things.. I get worried if someone's gone an hour more than they should. I'll think of the worst possible thing and freak out over it until they return. (They got in a car crash, they're cheating, blah blah blah...)
Anyways, to the point.
Is this type of thing bad? Is it even paranoia? Do you have a problem like this?

Paranoia is a very comforting state of mind. If they are all out to get you, it means you matter.
Edit: I'm so paranoid i reach for a boken whenever i am woken by a noise

I know what you mean, I'm that way too. I don't think you have to worry, though, as there is a line between natural suspicion and paranoia, and I don't think you've crossed it.

I am more paranoid than you could possibly imagine. So much so that it's ruined bits and pieces of my life.
I'm in your basement. Watching you. Do you see me? I'm waving at you.

OT, I'm not really paranoid at all, but the world has definitely given me reason to be paranoid.

It can be rather depressing when no one's out to get you. I keep hoping for someone to make an attempt on my life, but so far, no such luck.

I have a deep paranoia because of being made fun of so much. For example, really hot chick came to me and asked me to show her how to play WOW (I swear to god true story and i later found out she wasn't lying) I assumed she was lying as a lot of people make fun of me SO much about playing that game at school. So I yelled at her and left the room. (This was at school in a class where we could pretty much come and go as we please)

Remember, just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they *aren't* out to get you. I pretty much assume that everyone's out to get me until I get to know them well enough to prove otherwise.

I'd get freaked out about the same thing. People are good liars, goddammit. D:

When someone says I'm paranoid, I tell them, "I'd rather be paranoid than right." Very few udnerstand.

Apologies Abound

NOTHINGS WRONG WITH ME! STOP STARING!... >_>

Actually I am a bit paranoid, but I also laugh at myself readily so it balances out.

If when someone wakes you from a very deep sleep your first thought is "I must defend myself" and you start attacking the person waking you, only then realizing its your cat. Is that being too paranoid or just survival instincts? I suffer from this and both my brother, and my cat have suffered as a result.

You might wanna look it up. The internet knows all. I'm guessing it's survival instincts. Depends on the person, someone who's at ease all of the time probably won't attack.

I'm highly paranoid, my friends think it's hilarious, I find it slightly annoying.
