This is my second favorite PS1 game, behind only Ore No Ryouri. I just wish they'd released it a few months ago, before I'd hacked my PS3. I'm not gonna give up my Super Metroid for this.

P.S. Thanks

Aww, i've already played Pe2. Darn it all, I guess I'll have to never play the first one then.

Facts are a little off on this one, it's 5.99 not 9.99 I bought it tuesday. Also, why so slow? It was released 48 hours ago dude!

It is $5.99. On the NA psn anyway.
Apologies. Aeropause had it reported (and still does) as $9.99. I double-checked on the PSN and confirmed your info. Thanks for the heads up :)

We don't always get press releases about this sorta stuff. Sometimes we don't pick up a news story until it appears in our own news feeds, which is why some news stories appear on different days on different sites.

About goddamn time. One of the greatest PS1 games is back. I mean, I can't be the only one who's childhood was scarred by this:

Ahhhm back when Square made good games. This and the sequel were mind blowing, I reacquired the sequel last year on PSOne and am eager to play it.

Funny enough this game is a lot like bioware now, the first one was filled with lots of RPG elements and RPG combat and the second one was more action based. Though the third one ...I..can't say I have any interest in it.

Yes! Perfect! I borrowed PE2 from a friend a few months ago and played through most of it. Now I can play PE1 again past the 2nd or 3rd boss that terrified me as a child!

Captcha: Finding Kepin
Who's Kepin and why do we need to find him/her?

Good God I love that cut-scene. My sister used to watch me play PE and when that scene came up we were both terrified and gob-smacked....and we couldn't put the game down

What do you mean used to? Square still makes good games.
I've not liked one of them since Final Fantasy Tactics on the consoles. I enjoyed Crisis Core and right now Tactics Ogre is incredible but I've not liked their games. Kingdom Hearts and Dissidia may play well but it doesn't change my perception on blatant fanservice and absolute boredom towards the games. And yes, I have played them before you ask.

I loved that game, although I didn't actually finished it, I made it to the final battle, but I couldn't defeat it and I stopped playing it.

I think it's a good time to dust off my memories of that game. I don't have a PS3 or a PSP, but I still have my actual disc of PE lying around.

Speaking in biological terms, how can a mitochondria be anything but a mitochondria?

... regardless, ive never played it, but it sounds awsome!
Eve's mitochondria have been "awakened" into their own sentience through genetic experiments. Since mitochondria can feed your cells genetic information the new awakened strain can control its host body any way it wishes. Transforming people and animals into horrific deformed nightmares. They can also increase their processing of oxygen (another function they actually preform) causing the biological processes of the host body to speed out of control until the host bursts into flames.

I love how this game incorporated real science. If the mito could actually be made sentient, which is the only long shot considering they're bacteria, they could do most of the things depicted in the game.

And it's all horrifying.

buy this instead of 3rd Birthday; that travesty doesn't deserve any attention

I agree, they turned it into a duck and cover shooter
The gameplay is the least offensive of the games myriad mistakes. The guy who wrote it seemed to be actively trying to destroy Aya's personality depth. But then again it was the same hack who wrote FFXIII, who apparenlty doesn't get the fact that he sucks at his job.
