Yeah, I have. And probably most of the people on the site, as there is a fairly common one that almost everyone gets as a child. It looks like a small white worm, lives inside your rectum, and is usually passed out through defecation. Pretty common, much less worse than it sounds, really no harmful effects.

However, for deadly parasites, no, no I have not had one.

I have some, they are called younger siblings!..Har har har!.. no, but seriously. I've had my share of parasites, like leeches when walking through a swamp and such. But non inside me, not that I know of.
Byt the way, did you know that Misteltoe is a parasite?

Wanna a good show on parasites? Watch "Monsters Inside Me" on Animal Planet. Lets just say I am never, ever, ever visiting a tropical jungle in person. Fuck that. It is just too risky. Brain worms and all that crap. It is just wrong.

There are a bunch of leeches in remains of a well near my house. They're pretty cool, and I've had my share of bites (when we were young, we used to have competitions who dares to have a leech longer on his arm... I won once when one fell off on its own :p)

Yeah, I wonder why little kids get that?
It's because little kids don't wash their hands as much as they should, and the eggs get on kids fingers by touching their bums, then touching a sink, which another kids touches, who then eats without washing his hands, getting the eggs into his body. All part of the parasites' strategy: put the eggs on the outside: they'll spread.

Ticks, leeches, worms of course.

I hate to break it to you but your probably infested now. I mean you've got a couple a stone of flora & fauna in your body already to think you don't have an external infestations just stupid :D.

Bed bugs :D
Yes, but most of those micro organisms are supposed to be in our bodies. We would actually die with out them. When I think of parasites I think of tape worms and crap like that.

I had lice once (I suppose everyone gets it when they are kids), but that was done and dealt with.

had ring-worm once, but that's really a fungus. Other that, ticks in wooded areas, fleas from the cats once.

Leeches and ticks are the only ones I actually know that I've ever had to deal with. Though it's very possible I've got all manner of other parasites living inside me. Same goes for the rest of the people in the world. There's really no way to tell without going to a doctor and having tests run.

Everything on this planet wants to either "Fuck" your shit up, or hurt you in some way.

Sorry, from the title I thought this was a thread about students...

I'd like to add that anyone who has ever been pregnant has had a parasite.

As far as I know, the only parasite that's ever gone after me has been mosquitoes, if they count. Other than that, I don't know. I grew up in England and moved to Canada long after the bad hygiene phase, so my odds of getting infected by anything have always been limited.

Besides, any fruit I eat is either: A. Washed thoroughly or B. In its natural skin. Any meat I eat is cooked well over 60 degrees C (the temperature necessary to kill tapeworm eggs and larvae). A big part of why you should boil water you plan to drink when out in the woods is because of tapeworms.

Honestly, if you live in a wealthy part of the world, your risk of getting tapeworm is near-zero unless you like eating raw food.

Yeah that makes sense, I just wonder where the cycle originates from.
I'd put your stuff in spoiler tags just incase. Not because I believe what you have posted to be out of order, but simply because there are many, weak-stomached or overtly conserative members.
Yeah, I've always wondered myself. I could google it if remembered the name of the parasaites >.<. Anyway, thanks for spoiler tagging it, I should go do that myself.
