videogamenaziparentsyndrome can be identified when the parents in question dont acctualy care about the content of the videogame its self, only the fact that a few games in the past have been bad for kids so that means all games ever created are made from pure malice and sould be burnt at the stake for being in league with Satan.
This is why we like the Wii. These parents see their own parents playing it, and then they become very confused, which is funny ^_^

Parents these days are extraordinary idiots, when I played resistance 2 I played it for the fun of it and not the violence (and when I finished it I didnt instantly shout "Imma gonna go shoooting bus drivarrz for no apparent rasin!!!!!!! looooooool") Seriously though people should grow up and accept that the world is changing, for example i have a huge addiction to playing video games, but that doesnt mean that im as lazy as the worlds fattest man (no offence intended much) in fact Im currently learning to freerun and climb short lamp posts, so theres some proof to all the haters out there that cant accept the world for what it is

in the end people will do what they damn sure want with their lives and no-one can stop 'em, its a human right, they will play games, they will get married, they will buy a house where-ever they want and live there end of discussion.

This reminds me of a game I had on a floppy disk (8 inch square that was black, remember?) when I was young. I played it on my Atari ST. It was about a guy and his dog that had to cross through a cave and jump up and down to grab numbers and mathematical symbols (plus, minus, multiply, divide), all while avoiding monsters, to match a number that's your set goal. Then you put them in a giant machine at the end. If you get the number right, the guy and his dog dance.

I loved that game. And the dancing! Such a payoff!

Parents didn't complain in those days. They also never had a conniption over how Speak&Spell took over their child's lives. Why start now?

It's probably worth telling everyone that the game in question is called DimensionM. Though a quick look around the site didn't really give much footage of actual gameplay, there is a demo available that I'm too lazy to try.

Parents are angry that their children are having fun and learning at the same time? If a video game helps teach your kids how to do Math, Science, or English than I say let them play it. It is better these children are learning and having fun rather than being taught math the boring way.

Video games are not a recognized addiction according to the American Psychological Association.

Food for thought.

Anti-games evangelists are getting older and older...

...as the upcoming generation of adults are the ones who grew up the NES, Atari and so on.

These kind of kooks will soon be a thing of the past.

[small]And I suppose English classes are fuelling the addiction to books.[/small]

It strikes me that these people have a VERY low opinion of their children. "WHAT? Little Susy COULDN'T possibly be having fun and learning! No, she must be...she must...she must be enjoying MURDER AND RAPE! That's what kids like! That's the reason they like stuff, all the rape and murder!"

That settles it. Parents WILL complain about any video game they can find, no exceptions.

Don't worry guys, wait 10-20 years and most of the haters will either be dead or too old to do anything about anything.
Pretty much this. People have been complaining about games for decades, so we finally get a game that actually benefit people, and they still complain. There is nothing we can do to win with these people, so just ignore them until they go away.

And by go away, I mean eventually die of old age so that the world can progress and move on.
