When i was doing my first year of a-levels i got caught playing on my ps2 instead of revising and so i was banned, i was later caught playing on my x-box and got the same punishment. i had bought both of these with my own money, gained from birthdays and a part time job so i resented my mother for taking them from me.
Let me explain myself, i realise that i was a little shit and frankly nowerdays im a slightly bigger shit for different reasons, all through my school career i was able to do well without putting in any effort. Until i left compulsary education. because i had never really worked hard to get results the time i really needed to i struggled to keep at it. So yeah i was real prick.
this however is not what i want to talk about, after my exams i asked for my consoles back only to be told that i could not, it was either "but your so much nicer when your not playing your games" or "your an addict and you need to break the cycle" i forget which but both have been used extensivly.
i cant help but rant about the first one because i find its peoples attitudes towards me which changes when i stop playing games, for whatever reason, rather than me suddenly becoming a human being.
ive digressed again..
right. i keept asking for my consoles back for several months and got the same response, when i went to university i bought a laptop and became a pc gamer. I forgot about my ps2 and x-box until i came across a big box full of my old games three or four years later, i asked where they were, a little out of curiosoty but mostly out of nostalgia and was told that they had hidden them in the shed and then accidently broken them and had to throw them out and had hoped that i would just forget about them.
last year i had some financial difficulties so i sold the majority of my big box of games for arround..£20.
