Sadly, this is unequivocally true. But this is hardly news - I've always known that people are stupid. After seeing this, I questioned my parents on this topic.... Well, my mum was more reasonable and laughed, saying that she'd be much more worried about me drinking heavily while watching porn. However my father (who drinks heavily and watches porn anyway) said (and I quote) ;

"Games like that are sinful, and should be banned. It's ridiculous what they do to children. In fact - don't you own both GTA4 and SR2?"

"Yes. And I'm not a mindless serial killer am I? I've been playing GTA's since they were a group of yellow pixels, controlled from 100ft in the air"

"You can't buy them in a shop - you must have used Amazon, then repaid someone. Who?"

"You"

" Silence..... Well..... More silence..... "
I laughed at his flattened honor. But seriously, my mum were surprised that parents cared more about the electronic games their children play, than alcohol an' sex.

Them veedeeo games is the tool of the Devil, I tells ya!

This isn't a shocking thing becauseof the way videogames are represented in the media, to my knowledge it started with Mortal Kombat and Doom now if you don't want these statistics to be true then go back in time and murder the design teams of Mortal Kombat and Doom, of course it would fix everything but then of course the MK series would never exist and Fps would also be damaged as a genre too also meaning violent games might never properly emerged if it wasn't for the first few "pioneer" games that pushed political correctness off a bridge. What I'm tryingto get across is if you want to enjoy gaming then you're pretty much going to have to accept this retarded bullshit.

This is bullshit. Why do parents rely so much on the media to tell them what to think. Its partly the fault of news channels like Fox News who always go on and on about how evil video games are. I think all this is because people who became parents in the 80's,90's and even the 2000's most of them didnt play video games. The last game my mum played was Pacman on an arcade machine and I dont think my dad has ever played a game.

Im so sick of parents blaming everything else but thier own parenting as to why their kids act the way they do. If they were to sit down with the kids and play the games and make sure the kids know its just a game then it wouldnt create problems.
