lol. i did try to, i told him to get professional help and stop drinking. so did the rest of his co-workers.

Another tip for the next time you come across someone thinking about killing himself: simply telling him to get help isn't enough and you know it. There is so much more that you could do.
Also you live in Hawaii!! How hard can it be to find someone on such a tiny island?

also its not my business to get in his personal life after he conciously made a choice that is not illegal. if i was in his shoes id be nothing more than annoyed at some random kid (and i mean kid cuz i was less than 18 at the time) trying to stop me from drinking.


here's a tip. your comments are completely offtopic and unwanted. i dont care what you think about what i chose to do. i did everything within reasonable reach for me to do. the guy has a life and im not even a friend of his. its not my place to interfere in it. now either post comments on topic or dont post in the thread. not everyone wants to save the world and every manic depressive retard they meet in life.

i waited this long just in case someone ends up calling the police on this thread i can honestly say "i have no idea where he is, what he ended up doing or his name". lol.

the purpose behind this thread is to discuss and share opinions on or about passive suicide as well as share any personal accounts you have with this phenomenon.

I think I get it. You don't care about us saying thing about your personal account. What you want to know or understand is passive suicide and if we had any experience like that.

Most smokers are passive suicidal because they know it'll kill them but they don't care.

There are people that work with dangerous chemicals on the job and is told the chemicals can cause severe health problems or worse even kill with sustained or repeated contact without a protective device or some sort. Some of those people will tend to brush off the warnings and work unprotected. Would that be considered passive suicide?

People that ride bikes without protective gear. They know what will happen if they fall off the bike. Usually they tend to think they'll just die and not get the less severe option of having your skin scrapped off under high speed and gravel. They ride around and don't care, they'll brush off death as either it won't happen or if it does, protective gear wouldn't have saved their lives.

Technically, it is his life.
He can do whatever he pleases with it.
Whose to say he couldn't just end it right now?

A. i am not in touch with this person any longer, i dont know where he works any longer, nor do i know his number, nor is he my friend, he was my old manager.

also back at the time i coudlnt decide if he needs any help or not, he's a perfectly logical human being that is consiously making the choice to die. i dont know what to think of that.

but most importantly i have no strings attached to this anymore. i dont know where he is now and i have no way to reach him. so yeh.

You are a terrible person for not trying to prevent a potential suicide when you had the chance. Here's a tip for the next time you're about to walk away from someone who is contemplating swallowing a pile of pills or drinking themselves to death: someone who wants to kill himself is not logical or rational.

No, you are the terrible person. What kind of person won't even let other people kill themselves. If they don't want to be alive who the hell has the right to keep them around, and keep them miserable. It's just sick, and selfish to the extreme. Life isn't sacred, and if someone wants to get rid of it, they should have the right to.

"They" meaning the hospital. As far as I am aware you can not transplant lungs from live people. But because she was a solo mother she was high on the hospitals priority list.

He should not be permitted to drink anything with alcohol in it. to save him now he needs someone from the outside, because he evidently cant do it himself. hiding behind life insurance to justify his death to himself. he wont listen nor will he reason he already made up his mind. take the alcohol from him so he cant drink himself to death or lock him up somewhere where he cant drink until he listen.

Read the the story. It's his old manager so as someone who has worked in retail for longer than I care to admit I could imagine letting a manager slowly die while I stand by and do nothing.

Hahaha! As someone who has also worked in retail...I laughed at that. (And then felt kinda guilty.)

Honestly though. Some people have to hit rock bottom before they can go back up. That's just the way things are. You have to come to a point where you decide you want to help yourself.
