You're perfectly right there, but my main problem with the PC vs. Console conflict is when developers delude themselves into thinking that consoles are automatically unable to handle RPG's without dumbing down (Dragon Age) when they could have worked perfectly with a few tweaks (Deus Ex).ciortas1 said:People saying it's wrong for Mass Effect to appear on PS3 were morons. Can't see where my double standard lies. Platforms better fitting for certain games should always have a higher priority for release over those that aren't anywhere near as fitting. FPS games and PCs for example, or fighting games and consoles.
Shit, misread the post, my apologies.RhombusHatesYou said:The Playstation isn't a console?Ninjamedic said:Vagrant story and Deus Ex would like to have a word with you.ciortas1 said:And you don't even give me an example of an RPG that should've been released on a console.

Most of the people I saw saying ME had no place on the PS3 weren't PC gamers and were pissy about the 360 losing another 'exclusive'... much to the surprise of PC gamers who didn't realise ME was a 360 exclusive and had been happily playing it on their PCs.ciortas1 said:People saying it's wrong for Mass Effect to appear on PS3 were morons. PCs get most western RPGs (if not all of them), including some European titles that never see console releases (and bless 'em for that).ciortas1 said:Also, PCs do get their RPG releases, I just wish they'd been developed PC first as to utilize the advantages the platform offers (Oblivion, Fallout and Mass Effect for the horrible inventories that could've been way better, for one).
And they wonder why PC gamers don't bother to differentiate between various types of console gamer.ciortas1 said:I know, it's part of the dick fight between Sony and Microsoft (and their fanboys, by default) I mentioned earlier.RhombusHatesYou said:snip
You realise you just proved Kasurami's "PC gaming crowds sense of entitlement" thing right, you know.ciortas1 said:FPS games are better played on PCs. It is to be expected that any and all FPS games should be released on PCs.Kasurami said:And once again, the PC gaming crowds sense of entitlement is kicking right in. Seriously, you didn't hear all the console gamers up in arms when the PC got that MoH beta.
LOL - yes, because pointing out that one part of three is being excluded is a sure sign of 'entitlement'. Fail.Kasurami said:And once again, the PC gaming crowds sense of entitlement is kicking right in. Seriously, you didn't hear all the console gamers up in arms when the PC got that MoH beta.
...Rack said:Err yes, Bulletstorms minimum requirements are somewhat lower than Mass Effect 2's recommended requirements, though they are a fair bit higher than Borderlands recommended requirements but that's somewhat of a disingenuous comparison. You could run Mass Effect 2 and Borderlands simultaneously better than you could run Bulletstorm going off the recommended requirements.Delusibeta said:...Rack said:Step 1. Make a piss poor port of Bullet Storm that requires a frankly ludicrous level of hardware to run.
Step 2. Bribe Websites to say these requirements are "surprisingly lenient"
Step 3. Don't release a demo and laugh as dozens of people buy a game they have no hope of running since they don't really understand PC specs but if they can run the most impressive PC game out there on high settings surely that's good enough to run a "surprisingly lenient" game.
Either you're trolling, or you need to upgrade your computer. Bulletstorm's minimum specs is comparable (and slightly lower in some respects) to Mass Effect 2's and Borderlands, and I didn't here any QQing about those being crappy ports.
And how come everyone is falling back to the old "you need to upgrade your PC every 18 months, or spend $2,000 on a system" standby these days? What happened to PC games running decently on 3-4 year old mid-range systems (e.g. Mass Effect 2, Borderlands)

FPS does not suit controller.

THEY didn't come out for the PS3/XBOX, did they? And they are one of the funniest games of the 21st century.
Both Serious Sam HD games did, actually.BJ777 said:Well, don't forget the PC exculsives, such as Serious Sam or Painkiller.suubersnake said:That's somewhat lame. And I liked People Can Fly too...

To be blunt: lies. If you don't put DRM on the demo, it gives the crackers no clue as to what DRM you're going to use for the finished game.obscurumlux01 said:Well supposedly, DRM must be integrated into a PC demo so that the non-DRM'd demo isn't used to crack the official retail release any faster.
